Moved to New Jersey - dealer recommendations?

Hi folks, I moved to NJ the past weekend and I am looking for recommendations on NJ dealers. I'm in Central Jersey so I would prefer the Princeton/Edison/Bridgewater area. My car's due for service in 2800 miles. It currently has ~43k miles so this will most likely be the last one under free maintenance. I also plan to get a few warranty related issues checked out.

What dealerships would you recommend I go to? Also, please let me know if there are any that I should avoid like the plague.

As a side discussion, it would also be great to know about reliable indy garages in the area.

I'm sorry you had to move to Jersey. Flemington BMW just won best dealer award for 2015. I've been there, nice people.

You should have first consulted with us regarding moving to NJ. Sorry for your luck. :-)

I second the recommendation for Flemington. A great group that's very supportive of the local BMWCCA chapter.

Circle BMW is also a good option.

yes jersey is the worst, especially when you get someone with PA license plates driving under the speed limit in the left lane

I guess that's why I always get rear-horned while driving at 70mph on a 65-speed limit hwy.

You'll never see me in the left lane. I'm over in the totally empty right lane passing all of the natives that are camped out in the left lane...

Thanks for the replies everyone ...and the grand welcome to NJ Anyone know if Open Road BMW in Edison is good for servicing?

Looks like I inadvertently jump started a PA vs NJ rivalry I'm actually enjoying driving in NJ because I get to drive my car like a BMW should be driven instead of driving like a grandpa in New Mexico where I constantly had to worry about being pulled over by pueblo cops for being a little over the limit

I guess my 35 mpg days are over....

I also use BMW of Mount Laurel. My service advisor is Kurt Foster. He's a good guy and very professional and helpful.

Princeton BMW is pretty awesome. Unlike most dealerships, their loaners are anything but 328s . Nothing wrong with 328s, but it's fun to get an X3 or 535i for a day or 2.

Usually the people crapping on Jersey are from PA. I'm from NJ but don't live there anymore and I'd take living in Jersey over PA 10 out of 10 times.

I've had great experience with Mount Laurel BMW and good but not great with Open Road BMW.

Well, duh.

Both states have their good and bad. Anything immediately around Philly is meh. North Jersey is insane. But there are lots of nice areas/regions in both states. You just need know where to go and where to avoid.

I got my F31 through Manny Antunes at Springfield BMW and had a great experience, but that was in 2014 when they were still JMK BMW, plus he isn't there anymore, so I can't say if they're still any good unfortunately. Now I go to Park Ave BMW which has been average to very good, depending on the day, and I would recommend them, but probably not close enough to you. I'm closer to BMW Manhattan, but go to Park Ave since they're right next to my hospital and have done a much better job than Manhattan. If you're in the area, worth checking out.

I think most of the central NJ dealers aren't too bad - I bought my car from JMK/Springfield, but have only had it serviced in PA (which is of no help to you at the moment). For my non-dealer maintenance, I've been using Drive Auto Works for years (for my Audi and VW, and now the BMW) - one of their locations is 1/2 mile down the road from JMK.

Welcome to the state!

Another one for Flemington. I drove nearly 8 hours a few years ago for a low mileage e92. We negotiated a fair price over the phone, held it with no deposit, finished what they could for ppr work. Got there took a test drive paid them and went home.

Keep it to 75 (in a 65 mph zone) and you won't be bothered.

Way to plan ahead, ordering the Cold Weather Pkg in AZ, just in case you ever moved to NJ.
