AdBlue Consumption
Only done 5,600 miles from new and got the 'Adblue on reserve tank' message. Had to top it up with 5 litres. Seems rather greedy, what do other folks get?

I’ve done 33k and filled up twice, think I’ve got 5k left on this tank so should see 38k with the 3 tank fulls.
Our local petrol station has an adblue pump so I use that to brim the tank when I fill up. |

Thanks, looking at the general specs, seems to be about 20-30 litres of Adblue per 20,000 miles. I think it's a 12 litre tank. Apparently you only use Adblue when the engine exhaust is hot enough, so short journeys hardly use any. Aggressive driving uses more, oops!
Mine was on reserve level which is 1 litre, I put 5 in so I need another 5 litres to top it up, A bit odd because the vehicle status says I only need 0.5 litre. I'll keep an eye on the levels in future. |

Minr doesn't co.e up until 2000 miles or so left.
If there is an adblue system fault bmw analyse the adblue in your tank. If it is not bmw adblue (cheapo adblue have more water that can damage the adblue sensors) they may not warrant your repair that can run into the 1000's. I only use bmw adblue since I came across that info. |
