New forum user, new F31 LCI owner and a random question!
Hi all
I’m a first time BMW owner, and a first time forum user to boot. Wanted to say hi, and ask a question I cannot find the answer to anywhere! So…I just took ownership of my 2016 320D ED Plus Touring (I’m reliably informed this makes it the F31 LCI?) and it has a quirk I’m trying to figure out if it’s normal or an issue! In short, after I get out of the car and lock it, the light switches to the right of my steering wheel stay illuminated for about 3 minutes. All other lights, courtesy lights, even the light behind the start-stop button go off but they stay on and I cannot work out why! Or if they are meant to for some reason? Does this sound normal or like there’s a battery / fuse / other electrical issue? I’d be grateful for anyone can shed any light…no pun intended! For info, the setting is on Auto lights, but the headlights are off…I haven’t yet managed to try it with the lights set to manual as the dash switches stay lit as soon as I touch the controls 🤷*♀️ Thanks! |

Twister, I have a 2016 F33 and the lights in question on my car also stay on. No idea why.
The wife has a 2017 Peugeot and hers are the same, in fact her dashboard remains illuminated. |

I have notices the same on my 69 registered 430i M Sport Coupe. The first few times & went out to check it as I suspected a fault & stood there till the lights went off. Eventually I assumed it was just "normal".
