I have/had DWS06 on the e46 touring.
Pretty Decent tire but once I wore thru the snow layer of the tread it had less grip, obviously, and like all continental the sidewalls are softer and more compliant than Michelins or Bridgestones. Nothing that you won’t get used to in a week or two and might actually come to appreciate.they are stiffer than hankook sidewalls through I wouldn’t buy again but that is because I have no need for performance all seasons as we can run UHP summers year round here, except maybe 6-24 hours worth of snow per annum. Amd once they wear thru the Uber soft snow layer I felt they lost grip amd don’t like the tire characteristics changing due to wear in the dry. These days I’d jsut leave it in the garage if it snowed and take the Atlas. Edit: remembered you asked about KW. At stock height, they ride better than stock. You can feel more but it is more supple. I never had the issues you describe stock though.
