Question Car insurance recommendation?

Hi Guys,

It's time to renew insurance, I am currently with admiral but unfortunately they have raised my insurance by £100 this year.

I have 7 years no claims.

Driving a 320d msport

I have 3 modifications.
1. Change of rear spoiler.
2. Aftermarket rear lights
3. Aftermarket depo headlights

If you have any recommendations who I can contact for better deals that would be great. As I know not all car insurance company are on gocompare.

Thanks in advance.

If you're a member of the BMW GB Car Club, you get discounts with A-Plan. No Meerkat or Supermarket comparison website comes close. They're sensible with modifications too.

Admiral for me , all interior / exterior and MPPSK mods declared with minimal increase to costs.

They even acknowledged wheel spacers , which some companies wont.

Switched from Admiral to LV in March, saved about £200 over the Admiral renewal quote (Multicar). Chip and Exterior changes all fully declared, also including our Tiguan 230. Admiral wanted 730, LV was 530!

+1 For A-Plan, great guys, took list of full mods and still managed to reduce the cost after Direct Line said they would insure for £200 more than previous year and then decided no they wouldn't because they didn't recognise a plug and play tuning box

I'm with Admiral currently because they cover mods; was previously with BMW insurance who were very competitive, but unfortunately don't cover mods. Also worth trying a broker like Chris Knott or Brentacre.

My R34 (Skyline) was = £250 (20yrs NCD protected with 3 points)..
My F30 335d = £560
Add remap to 335d = £504
Thats sticking with A-Plan modified scheme....

A-Plan worth a shout, and i get the reasons why more expensive to insure a BM

+1 for A plan. Call the Thatcham branch as they deal with insurance for modified cars.

Sorry if I am hijacking this thread, new to the forum. My situation is quite strange that I am new into the country and have just managed to get license sorted. I am 36Yrs and planning on getting a F30 330d. any recommendations outside the usual comparision sites to find the cheapest insurance (with no NCD/or providers who recognise non UK NCD).

Insurance industry isn't kind to any sort of 'unusual'. You may struggle. Try the specialist brokers like Adrian Flux Chris Knott or Brentacre etc.

+1 for Adrian Flux

They were the only insurance company who would insure a Mk.3 Golf with Lambo style doors

I went Adrian Flux after making modifications to my 320d. I actually saved money through this route with modifications than through a non mod comparison site. Went from around £550 before mods to around £420 with mods.

A-plan all the way, told them about my remap and gearbox flash, still way cheaper than others out there

I would never go Adrian Flux after a terrible experience with them a few years ago on a golf. Had my BM's on LV always good prices and cheaper every renewal, turning 40 & moving to a lower risk area dropped it £200 this year

Christ!

I'm with Adrian Flux, £630 with all modifications listed, 3 points living between Liverpool and Manchester and not too far from the motorway means you're in a free for all area for car thieves.
