Hi guys
I need your help. Im extremely sad / worried because upgrade to 8.8 screen didn’t work. I bought from ebay a 626 used screen and tried to install it.

1. I plugged new screen and never turned on with or without FDL Coding. No signal message is not present. First question is it working or is it damaged?
2. Im attaching print screens of esys changes. What it surprises me is that i cant write new values, once I code and read again old values appear again. one thing that is strange for me is that my car has entrynav2 but as you can see when i open CAF file to edit in the top says “CAF (HU_NBT_EVO)
3. As i couldn’t make FDL Code and i doubt if new 8.8 screen is working decided to instal old one (assuming no changes in ECU were done)
4. When i plug the old 6.5 screen i got error message “no signal” i checked and read values and old ones with 6.5 are in the ECU

Honestly i dont know what to do. Did i make something wrong with FDL Coding? is new 8.8 screen damaged?

Update: otiginal 6,5 screen is working i don't know what happened but i let the car 30 min 1 hr and screen is working again.
So for new screen. Do you think is working? Or what am i doing wrong with fdl coding?

Guys, is it possible to use 6.5" display with NBT EVO? I rotated CID port 180 deg, coded 6.5" with 800x480 res but still no image (

You probably need to change display_variante back to whatever it is for 6.5

Also if the 6.5 is apix1 and the nbt Evo unit is apix2 (older id4 are typically apix1 but not all) you would need a voltage adapter

Why would you want to use the smaller screen though?

As you may know, display from entrynav1 is not compatible with entrynav2. So entrynav2 also apix2.

(I am waiting for Android touch screen, so it is temporary solution)

Hi everyone,

I've got a late 2016 F31 with 6.5" business nav and I'm trying to upgrade it to 8.8". Yesterday I fitted an LCI screen from ebay model 65509387453. Then using Bimmercode on an iPhone with an ENET cable I successfully (I think) coded

HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

When my system restarted I got this on the screen.



With DISPLAY_VARIANTE set to breites_display I've tried changing the DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION using Bimmercode to all these settings
6.5_800x480
8.8_1280x480
10.25_1280x480
10.25_1600x600

Regardless of what I set it to the display stays exactly the same.

Back in November in this thread jdoc999 and Spanielgita were having the same issue I think. I can't see any solution to it though.

I've not used ESYS before. Would changing DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION with ESYS work any different to using Bimmercode?

Could anyone help me please?

Guys with HU_ENTRYNAV2 need to change 3005 CID_DISPLAY_RES as well.

wasn't business only available on 6.5? without reading through every post again i don't know if that was a common issue between the half screen issue

*if* (again i don't know for sure) business nav was only for 6.5 and not 8.8 screens then its possible the assets are not available in the head unit to change resolution since the head unit was only meant for a 6.5 in cid

Another one with the 8.8 screen upgrade question.

Ive got a 67plate 3series with entrynav2, ive bought a screen 6822626 for the upgrade, torn the whole dash down fitted and got nothing but a blank screen.

As far as im aware i should be getting "no signal" at least?

i coded the display_brities (i think) with bimmercode but that made no difference.

can anyone confirm i have the correct screen? and that its hopefully just a coding issue?

what model year is your car? last 7 digits of vin to look up?

realoem says your car comes with the touchscreen CID on navigation models either 65508709338 or 65508709339.....but I believe 626 should work if coded correctly. Double check that everything is plugged in and that you coded it properly

Make sure to change resolution to 8.8 as well as breites display......that doesn't matter on entrynav but I think it does on entrynav2

After a lot of digging seems being entrynav2 i need to code something different to every other guide ive seen

CID_DISPLAY_SIZE = 8.8
CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1280x480
DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

So tonight ill give that a go and report back, appreciate the help

The above works on entrynav2 with the 626 screen.. all in and cooking on gas!

Year 2017, last 7 digits of VIN: 5H90061
Would 626 work? It's 1 series, but the head unit should be the same.

do you have nbt Evo id4 or id5

But this YouTuber did it and his screen was stretched out and I know that can’t be coded out as the car is older version. My question is can someone with a 6.5 CIC 2012 year straight swap the screen to 8.8 without coding as the YouTuber states or will it just straight up say “no signal” and not work? YouTuber in question is thic f30.

what would be the point of a stretched 8.8 screen? Better to stay with 6.5

I recently had CarPlay retrofitted its an Andream unit and I think even if idrive is stretched out CarPlay may work properly with it. That is obviously if the screen decides to work at all even if idrive is stretched.
