Question BMW MGU retrofit on F30

I want to retrofit the MGU unit on my F30 but before doing that I was wondering if it is even compatible.

Thanks in Advance

I think you need to give some more info about your car first.

It has not been done yet to my knowledge. I don't know if "compatible" is the right word, there are so many dependent systems that simply don't exist in the F3x platform (or are substantially newer) and they would all need to be retrofit and integrated somehow. It's definitely not going to be plug and play, retrofitting NBT Evo is a walk in the park compared to MGU and even that is too involved for most people.

No one to the best of my knowledge in the world including in Eastern Europe were most of this stuff originates has retrofitted MGU into F series. MGU does not have a most bus and all aspects of it phone home to BMW. If one thing is not right the MGU will brick itself. I do not think there will ever be a MGU retrofit.

According to the technical documents, the KOMBI, MGU HU, Telematics ECU and RAM all need to be in sync so they cannot work without each other. Further to that, BMW has an online validation requirement whenever one of these components are swapped.

I highly doubt that a retrofit would be available soon let alone for F chassis vehicles.

Hello, i come from germany / frankfurt. So something is currently being produced to simulate missing (ethernet) for Bmw F models. However, this will take some time. Among other things, the HU manufacturers are also involved.
