Hi Mate,

I think this is the perfect drop for an xdrive. I've just bought a 330d xdrive and want to lower it by the same drop as it sits too high, but don't want it to look as if it has been lowered as such.

Where did you get the springs and what drop is this?

Thanks
Gareth

But coming from a lowered E91 on Bilstein B16 IRC coilovers, everything is a bit high....

As mentioned before it's much better looking than stock and still usable as a daily.
But I am considering some coil overs when the current setup is worn out.
@anielsen71 - Many thanks for the exchange, almost exactly 1 year ago! Eventually.... meaning just today... I finally got my ACS Springs installed

First impression - no difference in comfort, both in "Comfort" and "Sport". But I have only driven 10km or so.

What shocked me a little bit however:

1. The front got lowered with almost precisely 20mm
The rear - with 30mm

2. The rear right sits about 4mm lower than the rear left!
Unfortunately I only measured one side before the mod, so I don't know if this has always been the case.
Have you measured both your sides?
I found some thoughts here: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1355149
and https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1004365
Somehow it does not sound very believable to me though, as the front is pretty much even on both sides.
My fuel tank is almost full (45L)

Hi there

Hehe time flyes :-)
Im still very happy with mine after aprox 50kkm on them.

Hmmm according to my notes, mine was lowered 25mm at both the front and rear. Didn't mesure the left and right side, so do not know if it differs. Looking at the car it seems equal left and right.

It does indeed I was reluctant to do it in the winter, in order to take advantage of the higher XDrive ride one last winter

If/when you get a chance, could you measure both sides from the ground to the fenders? I didn't even think about measuring both sides before replacing the springs.
Much appreciated!

My distance from the ground to the fenders (I appreciate that tires play a role in such a case) was 70cm (+/- 1mm) front and back, right hand side.

Now I have pretty much exactly 68 in the front and 67 in the rear.

Glad to hear you are still happy with yours! I am still to gather some experience with them, but was pleased that I could not tell any difference comfort-wise for the short ride back home.

Car looks great!

I'm thinking about either pairing my B8's with my H&R sports or Eibach pro kit springs. H&R claims 1.5" drop with seems accurate on my 4X4 435 xdrive GC, but your ACS spring don't look higher in any than my H&R sports. Strange.

So my question is do eibachs and ACS springs provide the same drop?

Agreed, anielsen71 you car looks good. The kind of drop I'm hoping for. My local shop is suggesting a set of Eibach E10-20-031-18-22 for my 440ix GC. I"m hoping to get the same drop you did.

Any suggestions from anyone regarding two different Eibach numbers:

E10-20-031-06-22
or
E10-20-031-18-22

Thanks

As stated many many times, springs are always hit or miss. They will not give the same exact drop car to car. Should just purchased coilovers and done it right the first time. That's the only way one can be sure the drop is what YOU want.

I just installed the Eibach E10-20-031-18-22 xDrive lowering springs on my 2019 440i over the weekend. I wanted to thank FaRKle for all the support and the great video walking the process through. See my post "DIY Springs/Shocks Guide & Tool List F3x/F2x" for the video and tool list. Here is before and after:

Hi all! Your XDrives are looking beautiful!

I have a 328d longroof with the base suspension. I'm wondering if there is a way to improve the ride/handling without lowering it?

Unfortunately due to my living situation, I am unable to go any lower as I'll scrape entering and exiting.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Yup, you can add stiffer springs that don't lower the ride height much/if any, and then put appropriate dampers on with them to improve handling. Just depends on how stiff you want to go. You could go a bit stiffer by using the springs that come with the F31 Adaptive-M suspension, or something even stiffer from other models like M-cars.

Can't be ultimate without taking the damping into account too. Springs are only half the part.

If I'm looking for a less hard ride, stiffer springs aren't the way to go... correct?Yes, I'm that new to the whole suspension game.

Looks goods. They are the H&R sport springs? Do you have the Adaptive suspension? How do you find the ride quality. I’m looking to do the same on my 435i xdrive with the m adaptive suspension.

For all of you that have chosen the ACS springs for your x-drive, specifically for F36 if possible. Did you change out the bump stops or not?

Going from ACS springs and stock shocks to KWV2s is like night and day! Definitely worth the expense. Great ride ,sits nice ,car handles like it’s on rails.

"Stock shocks" is to broadly said, mate. LCI's suspension is improved over pre-LCI. The stock adaptive suspension (especially in LCI) models gives you great handling and versatility which you do not get with any coilovers. Nothing beats the ability to change from comfortable to stiff on the go, as you need and prefer. At least for me.

Well, both Bilstein and KW offers coilovers with the ability to switch between comfort and sport by using the OEM button.
So not entirely true no coilovers offers that versatility ;-)
