Driver Restraint System Malfunction

I resently installed a M Sport Steering Wheel and now am getting this error. Airbag resistance too high error code 930910. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does this points to a faulty airbag? I switched back to original steering and no errors so far.

Is there a way to check and see if it's counterfeit?

I am not saying that is the issue. It's a possibility.

As I am not there, I don't know if you wiring is correct.

So just making you aware of possibilities to ask the seller.

Do all the connectors fit properly? I had another customer with a similar issue and he ended up purchasing one from the dealership and we were able to clear the error afterwards.

I'd also check to make sure that this airbag isn't part of this recall.

The problem is you cannot check airbag recall by airbag serial number.

Only by VIN originally installed in.

Which is another reason to be dubious of eBay sellers who have no idea where the airbag came from or are willing to give you a bogus VIN that could be found from a multitude of places, not the least of which, the for sale or lease section of Bimmerpost.

I sold my MSport Airbag from my personal 2013 vehicle for $650 to a member here. They stated that they could find a used one on eBay for $100 less. I told them to go ahead and purchase that one if they wanted.

After doing the research, they were very glad they purchased mine.

This is off topic....but a heads up.

I am sure the connectors fits properly. I'll be taking my car to an indie shop I trust and see what they can do.

Thanks for the heads up. If my indie shop can't fix it I'll take it to bow and see what happens.

Huh.. Interestingly enough I had the exact same issue as you, fixed the exact same way, with a steering wheel light from the exact same seller on eBay. Not sure what to think on that. I will note that I didn't get the error until half a year after installing it though.

That interesting. I'll bring it to the seller's attention.

Question guys, did you all buy your wheel/airbag from Latvia and that particular seller? I've had the issue happen 4 times now I think. They all seem to happen a little bit after I've used the horn. I'm assuming using the horn completes some sort of circuit that eventually causes the issue. The issues are all different every time.

I did get mine off eBay a few years ago from Latvia(I cant see who the seller was now since it's been so long ago), so there may be a common link here. I cleared out the error with bimmerlink and the error has not come back. Guess time will tell, but like with you the error comes up when I used the horn. Are you clearing the error out? Or does it go out on its own?

Guess I won't use my horn anymore!

I've cleared the code and it comes back instantly. I'm still under warranty and the dealer has been replacing this and that for me. The first time it was the clock spring. Second time it was the driver-side side airbag. Third time I don't recall. The fourth just happened last month and I've been too lazy to go in to get it sorted out.
