You need to plug in your iOS to your car and go to m laptimer. then go to your car's connecteddrive apps and you'll see m laptimer appear. Click Go on the car to record

Gotcha. Sounds like a feature my car wouldn't have, but I'll check next time I go out.

If you didn't have the M-Sport package, then just code it in.

I could, but not sure it's worth the effort. I haven't coded a thing in my life...

Pretty easy nowadays. Getting ESys is the hardest part and that's easy.

Yah, it's something I'll probably get around to eventually. Just too lazy right now and there's nothing I'm really itching to have coded.

I'm very confused. I contacted PTF again just to make sure I wasn't crazy and yup they still say "HP range is still relatively the same 70-80HP depending on ambient condition and fuel quality. Stage 2 with output approximately 30 HP over Stage 1 " which is not at all what you guys are saying.
Could it be they are quoting over manufacturer rated crank power? We know its underrated so it could explain why the 70-80hp stage 1 claim? EDIT: Really wish someone had a dyno lol. |

More or less agree. Both are good, but I almost prefer the 1/4 mile. I did 13.43 @99.95 on stage 1 and then did 13.08 @ 101.79. on stage 2. A substantial jump to say the least, probably more than 30HP would make, and conditions were comparable. Not sure what I would've done stock though, never ran it.

Ill ask a question that is impossible for me to ascertain the right answer. The single and only reason I haven't gone stage two is I have my track car, and many in the past, without cats. I loathe smelling like fuel when I get out of my car at work.
SO; in your best effort, can anyone compare what our 2.0 are like with the stage two and catless to say, a 6 cyl or v8? Is it less, same, more? Do you drive with windows down and thus smell like unspent fuel after 10-15 miles? Thanks in advance! |

He was 6MT, but you can still clearly see in-between shifts that my car is pulling on his. So to answer your question in terms of power/quickness, a stage 2 328i N20 is quicker/more powerful than a stock 335i N55. If your talking in terms of feel, I've never driven an N55 car so I couldn't tell you. I can say however, that the power feels nice and smooth for me in stage 2 guise, so I wouldn't imagine the N55 feels all that much better. You can definitely tell it's a turbocharged car, even though it is fairly linear for what it is, but you can hardly if at all tell it's a 4 cylinder. I drive with the windows down 100% of the time when it's above 50°F, and I've never ever been told that I smelt like fuel.

That was some leisurely off the line start for the 335i. Much slower reaction time than you.

Thank you guys! Mostly convinced, but one question I forgot to ask.... you may not smell of fuel, but do you smell the fuel? Sitting at a drive through for instance? |

Well looking at the time slip his reaction time is actually about .7 seconds faster than mine, but since he was MT I intentionally waited at the light so I would be playing catch up to see if I'd be able to reel him in, which I did. I think you mean his 60' was slower than mine, which it certainly was. I'm sure if he was 8AT it would've been a closer race, but even between shifts like I said I was still pulling fairly steadily.

Yes, in a drive through with the windows down you'll smell it (even then it's totally bearable IMO), but with the windows up you won't. That's the only time you'll smell it, at a stop with the windows down (or outside the car when it's stopped of course).

Yeah, and it's definitely not as strong as other catless cars. My smell was pretty strong the first week but went down quite a bit as I drove the car more. I drive in the city 90% of the time, so my smell pretty much blends in lol.

Absolutely. My buddy's C6 Z06 has high flow-cats and even that smells way more like fuel than my car does. May have to do with the doubling of cylinder count and probable quadrupling of exhaust gas volume, but you get the point. And I can sorta relate to the city thing, because half the time with your windows down in Central PA the smell of manure far overpowers the smell of the car
