Wind deflectors - who’s got them?

Thinking of getting wind deflectors on my F30. Has anyone got a set? What do they look like? Tacky?

Never been a fan of them. Usually they just clutter the exterior looks, and it reminds me of people heading to Halfords to accessorise their car...

However as I've never had any, I can't say whether they work or not!

I have them, I've had them on all my cars, in hot weather, you can leave your windows partially open behind the deflectors , it lets the hot air inside the car to escape and the inside is then cooler than it would normally have been without them plus if its raining you can have the windows open a bit without getting wet

I have air con in my car, so don't need to have extra accessories on the side of my car, distracting from the overall look.

I have aircon too but I can leave my windows slightly open when I'm not in the car if I'm at work or home and it's hot , I personally don't think they spoil the look but that's why we all have an opinion, it makes everyone different and that's a good thing.

I've never been a fan so never had them although I did walk past a black F30 today with wind deflectors as well as the M Performance kit and must admit I gave it a second look as it looked rather aggressive.

Each to their own, if you like them then go for it, they clearly do fit.

I've been thinking this for years..
The wind noise in an F31 with the windows down (even just a little) is shockingly bad at anything over 30mph.

I see the stereotype they give off.. Ruuuudeboi with his vape machine, Halfords car park etc etc.... People go crazy whenever they're mentioned, such hate for them. They don't look that bad, do they

But functionally they must provide a fix for the horrid wind noise.?? Yes I have aircon, no I dont vape... But I do like to drive with my window open a little just for that bit of exposure, the feel of outside air, and to hear the birdies singing.

I've been tempted a few times to get some and just fit the fronts, and to try and find a slimmer subtle version too. But never jumped in.

I bought a (non BMW) car that already had them on. They performed their designed function well, it was nicer with the windows down, less wind noise and the gf didn't complain her hair was getting blown all over the show.

However the drivers side window was restricted by the deflector when trying to close the window, and needed help to get it to close as it would go halfway up then go straight back down again.

Coupled with the aforementioned stereotyped look (vast majority of young G's who fit them do so for the look rather than the function) I decided I couldn't live with them. Managed to get 20 quid for them too off some young 'un who thought they looked "sick" and completed that equally shit "mod", his 3D number plate...

I've never been described as a ' Ruuuudeboi ' before, , I'm 60 years old, if it's a complement, I'll take it

I really don't like the look and think they do look a little tacky. They immediately make me think the owner of the car is a smoker as that's the only time I've been in cars that have them as they kept the front windows down slightly when 'avin a ***. They work quite well so if you want them just go for it.

My lad had them on his Insignia estate, he had some issues with the window closure mechanism due to sensitivity of the anti trap related to the fit of the deflectors.

They were after market though so possibly OEM may have worked better. He took them off in the end, which in both our opinions improved the look of the car, but obviously that is a subjective comment.

In the 90s they were all the rage for old people like having beaded seats. Now it’s all of the younger generation that seem to have them.

Beaded seats. Been a while since anyone's mentioned them. Definitely 'of their time'.
