Hotel recommendations

Looking to book our first summer holiday for a while.

We stayed at GF Victoria in Tenerife a few years ago and loved it.

We have an 8 year girl and (huffy teenager) 12 year old boy.

Fear we are looking for the impossible.

But does anyone have any recommendations for a good hotel that would provide activities etc to keep the kids occupied for some of the time but be a nice hotel?

Ideally looking at Greece / Tenerife areas.

Know you guys on here have good taste - so welcome any recommendations!

Thanks in advance.

We went to the H10 Atlantic Sunset in February. It's in Tenerife, just north of the main Costa Adeje bit in a resort called Playa Paraiso. It's a very quiet area but we found it nice and there was plenty for our kids to do. It's more self contained than some other hotels and might not fit the bill exactly but we enjoyed it and were able to eat on the seafront and at the Hard Rock next door. We've looked at the Victoria each time we've been but have never stayed but I'd say compared to the GF Gran, the H10 was probably better on balance.

If that doesn't float your boat, we are booked to go to the Eden Roc Hotel in Rhodes in August. We haven't been but it comes highly rated to us by friends. Sadly we won't get to go this year but will be rebooking for 2023.

I hope that's helpful to you in some way or another.

Can't recommend the Riu Palace Tenerife enough, right on the beach front just along from Playa del Duque and easy walking distance from Playa Fanabe.
Great Wifi coverage in the complex which kept our daughter busy with socials, spotify and YT but it's not geared toward kids as such, can't recall any kids clubs etc but there is a kids pool

The last time we went on holiday was hotel Atlantis in Puerto del Carmen lanzarote but kids were 7, 6, 1.5 y. They liked the night time entertainment and dances etc.
Were off to star beach village hotel in crete during the jubilee holiday week end of may/early june. But kids are 10,9,4.
As they grow older they are harder to satisfy!

rooms great, food excellent honestly cannot fault this hotel check the reviews out, but we have been and are very picky, you will not be disapointed, we booked with Jet2 but Tui holidays do it also,

I'll say this for the bots, they are more polite and less contentious than some...

No idea on the budget, but I stayed here for a week a few years ago and have sent friends there as well (hard to please friends) and it's a fabulous place in Guía de Isora.

In Greece, I've heard great things about the Mitsis Blue Domes Resort & Spa in Kos. It's got a water park, kids' club, and plenty of activities to keep the little ones entertained. Plus, the resort itself is pretty luxurious, so you'll get that nice holiday vibe too.
As for Tenerife, you might want to check out the Hard Rock Hotel. It's got a cool, rock 'n' roll theme that teenagers tend to love, and there are plenty of activities for all ages, including a kids' club and pools.
If you're open to other suggestions, I recently stayed at a fantastic Broadbeach accommodation in Australia. You can explore similar options.

Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife is a great place to go.

While not trying to steer you away from your desired locations, we have found holidays in Turkey to be both better quality with better levels of hospitality and with great value.

We have been to Turkey for the last three years from our secondary holiday as we found that in Europe they seemed to find British Holiday makers a bit of an inconvenience especially in Spain where we felt it the most.

We was in Tenerife Xmas 2023 and personally felt there was an unconscious bias towards us however it could just be how I felt…..

Where did you stay in Xmas 2023? We were in Tenerife the week before Xmas (and again in Feb 2024) and felt our stay wasn’t as nice as the same week in 2022. Same hotel, same room but totally different vibe. We stayed at the GF Victoria both times.

We’re looking at other places to go which cater to all our kids (ages 2 - 11) but we also need to be able to stay in a single room/suite and are finding it harder to find a great many places that will cater to a family of 6. Even looking for interconnecting rooms has been a struggle (though we have found some places in Crete and Cyprus for the summer and Majorca for May).

Nicer problems to have and all that.

We stayed at Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel, quite close to the Hard Rock Hotel.
