BMW Security Lug Nut Tool Stripped

Hi All,

Went to take off my wheel this weekend for some suspension upgrades & maintenance and my tool got stripped.

Good news, have the original paperwork & code so i've ordered a new one (in stock at Leith $28). I'm hoping it's not the actual lug but fingers crossed.

Back-up plan is to remove the lug nut with a combination of AGA tool (FCP Euro) and a slide hammer to break it and remove it with another special tool included in the AGA kit (the spline tool).

Last resort is to drill it out.

Question for this group, anyone local have the AGA tool and a slide hammer? If so, would love to borrow it if the new BMW tool key isn't sufficient.

Located in downtown Raleigh, willing to drive

FWIW, the old fashioned way is to take a socket that’s sized just under the outer diameter of the lock, and hammer it onto/over the lock. Then twist off the fused-together combo with a ratchet. It destroys the socket and the lock, but gets the lock off.

Thanks. I watched a few folks do this on YouTube and this might be the last-last resort I have a 21mm and 22mm 12-point but they're so soft so didn't love this approach. Plus folks recommend anything from a hammer to a sledge to "fit" it over

wishbone - If you are firm on ordering the AGA tool, I'd order from them directly vs. FCP to save some money: https://agatools.com/products/aga-wlrt

Good idea, got the new BMW security tool this morning, so hoping it's the tool and not the lug

AGA tool worked great... head came off... spline tool got it out. Will not be replacing wheel locks, just standard lugs.

Hey Wishbone. I'm struggling with the same exact issue. Some f'n idiot gorilla put the locking lug on so tight that I can't get it off with the key. It's no wonder i despise taking my car anywhere to get out worked on. Do you by chance still have the ATA tool? I'm also in the Raleigh area.

Only had to break one top off, the other 3 came off with a breaker bar and a new-to-me wheel lock key #52.

Replaced with standard lugs. Not dealing with that over stock OEM base model wheels.

Torqued dry to 140nm (103ft/lbs). Will drive 50 or so miles and retorque.
