That the car doesn't automatically quiet the radio when the windows are open (to avoid the noise pollution from pouring out the open window). Of course...this is a complaint on every other car as well! Why drivers feel compelled to share their taste in music at 120 db with everyone else is beyond me.

you can code the sensor's sensitivity easily and speed to your liking so easy fix there.
Thanks for the tip, I didn't know the wiper is able to code.

yeah check out the bimmercode app - he makes it as easy as selecting some drop downs to pick sensitivity of sensor and speed.

The OEM run-flat tires on my 2016 340i m-sport. 18 inch ContiSportContacts SSRs.

1) They're loud... I mean, I assume the road noise is predominantly tire-based, but maybe I should blame the sound insulation on the car more than the tires. Not sure. Tires seem like the culprit.

2) They feel hard... here too, I know the tires work with the M-Sport adjustable suspension to create the feel. I love the adjustable suspension, but I can't help but think the tires are what I'm feeling as hard here.

3) They've gone flat twice in one month. OK, so one was a screw, and you can't fault the tire for that. But the other was a mystery hole in the center of the tread, almost as if it hit a pebble or rock and cracked a hole that caused a leak that let out 8 psi per day. Found indy shops willing to patch both, since BMW dealers would not. So I'm only out $$$ for the repair, not replacements.
Maybe I just hit an unlucky streak, but...

4) They don't wear well. At 12K on the car, the folks who looked at the tires said I'm close to needing a new set, as indicated by wear bars. Is 12K all we can expect to get on these tires?

Want to replace them... probably in another 3K or so... with non-run-flats, even though I don't like the idea of not having a spare. The tires really seem to take some of the enjoyment off what has been a great car experience so far.

Oh man that looks awesome. I just ordered the OBDII wifi adapter so I can try that app out.

What do I hate about my f30 after owning it for 24 hours...LOL...um...probably the worst thing is the super cheap plastics in some spots, especially on the lower parts of the doors. I got my 2016 lightly used for a steal, but for being a nearly $60k car when brand new, the plastics are kind of atrocious. I think I've seen the same stuff being used in $15k Chevy Sonics. I knew that going in though, so an acceptable compromise for all the great things about the car.

I know we're doing only ONE thing but...kind weird how they couldn't manage to get a sunglasses storage compartment in the overhead console. Every car I've ever owned has had that (even with pano sunroofs).

Lots of complaints about having to double pull the door release lever! Are car-jackings so rife in your locality that you need to have the 'auto-lock on drive off' set at all times?? I never have my car locked when driving, even in Weston-Super-Mare!!!

The Harmon Kardon sound system is extremely underwhelming. Logic 7 sounds okay on some songs and horrible on others. The sound settings require constant adjustment, depending on the type of music you're listening to. Too much bass in some songs, not enough in others. I had better sound processing in my 2002 Jetta. For a 60k dollar car it's rather disappointing.

No hydraulic steering.

I guess the stereo in our old Hyundai makes the HK seem just fine by me.

The cheap plastic interior

That's why I've spent more than I should on retrofitting the interior.

Agreed. It is without a doubt the worst "premium" audio system I've ever had in a car.

Mostly I dislike the lack of low end fidelity, so I'm hoping I can make it acceptable with some drop-in replacement speakers/sub.

argh these negative reviews on the HK system are turning me off of a car i otherwise like. the stock infinity system in my 37K genesis is amazing. i can't take a downgrade if i "upgrade".

I ordered with HK. REALLY wish I had just gone with standard as I would be much easier to upgrade.....for a cheaper price than the HK system cost.

I really enjoy the HK. Most of my passengers are impressed with it.

Take a test drive in a dealership car that has it and see what YOU think. YOU are the only one who matters.

often times you will see folks being over dramatic about something personal to them or just because it's online and it's great for another. your experience is what matters, really.

Yes and yes. Try it for yourself.

That being said, the F30 is the least impressive BMW HK system to my ears going back at least 15 years. Tweeters are too harsh for me. I swapped for the Bavsound speakers and Bimmertech amp and am very happy with it now, except that media input is so much more quiet than other sources.

Thanks for the heads up on the Bimmercode app. It's ridiculously quick and easy. Great tool!

I hate eco-pro mode which I see as utterly pointless! Switch to this mode in your 340i and one very fast car instantly becomes totally lame with virtually zero throttle response! Comfort isn't that much better, the only mode to use is Sport (or S+) which should be the cars default mode... after all this is the ultimate sports sedan isn't it??

Why would anyone complain about choices? You don't EVER have to use Eco Pro. I certainly don't either, but some do. Sport is still available for you and everyone to use (Sport+ should be reserved only for the track).
