Dinan vs BM3

hey everyone,

I know this has been extensively argued, but I need some opinions on what is the better value?

So I have an n26 f32 xdrive, currently only with a dinan sports tuner, and I love it, really feels punchier than before

however, I want more and a smoother power band, and I have a couple sales lined up, but am stuck between the 2

I have a Dinan stage one for 500, basically brand new, seller put it on, decided not to keep it

Or

do i just go for bm3 with the extra maps for future upgradability for the extra 100-150

I do want to do more upgrades in the future, (i.e fbo, maybe new turbo) but as a college student, not the top of my priority

I never used dinan. I have tested JB+, JB4, Ventura and BM3 on a b48 330e.
Of all the tunes, BM3 is by far the best.
BM3 is much smoother, more powerful and has the best features of all tuning options I tested.

Ventura was the most powerful and most smooth chiptune but JB4 very close and has better features.

JB+ decent gains for cost.

I love BM3 so much I became an authorized dealer for them.

Both are good options, bootmod3 is superior in every aspect.

Ha ha that's the issue! I'm stuck between the two cause they're so good!

I'm leaning more towards bm3 and I was before finding the Dinan tune but just knowing it's a little more refined and physical is something I like

Nevertheless, I know the boys at pro tuning freaks have done a phenomenal job with all the bmw engines so that's not a worry for me

I guess it comes down to my timeline, as it's a matter of when I want to do the future upgrades...

The only advantage Dinan has is the warranty, but since you are getting the Dinan used you wont be covered.

Don't waste your time with any piggy back.

Flash is the only way to go, imo. Mandatory if considering downpipe (stage 2)

Piggy backs can be the easier option on a leased car that the owner doesn't want to fiddle with too much. That being said most of our FX cars are no longer on lease, so I would always recommend the flash tune, BM3 was a tremendous improvement over JB+.

Bootmod3 is the way to go. JB4 doesn't feel as smooth as BM3 when you get higher up in the rpm's, whereas BM3 you still feel like you're pulling well into 4th and 5th gear. I have BM3 flash and OTS maps bundle for sale since I am going back to stock and selling my car. B48 engine

No its not better its worse from a performance standpoint based on what i gather, and if you listen to what other people tell you to do to YOUR car, you probably shouldn't tune it.

Did a performance comparison between JB+ and bootmod3 a while back.
