Haha, anytime. I'm not averse to the odd Golden Sheep Quote:
In my research I came across one chap who said that we should all be updating the engine ecu (DDE) with the Alpina version as well as the gearbox with seemingly no consideration given to the fact that the Alpina engine is different to the 335d engine. (Twin parallel turbos vs twin sequential turbos.) Talk about poor advice!

FYI to the x30d owners - With the Alpina flash, the car no longer shifts optimally in sport mode for maximum power. Ill do some more tests, but an optimal shift for a remapped car seems to be ~4300RPM. In Sport/Sport, the Alpina software shifts around 4750, where the car's turbo is noticeably inefficient.

Would be good to hear your thoughts. After another drive tonight, the car is much better in comfort without the kick down. I've been thinking of disabling it for some time now as it's lethal if it kicks down whilst powering out if a corner.

I've found the kickdown to be a bit useless, especially in comfort. A lot of noise and not much action. I suppose the alpina flash might be better suited to the x35d cars because like the Alpina they have 2 turbos, although sequential not parallel.
@eddamoo if you're around Sheff you're welcome to see how the flash works on my 335d |

It's easier and a bit cheaper if you don't want or need the LCD display.
Hilka jump leads from screwfix (£10) soldered onto the server power supply. (£15 or so) However any power supply would need to be modified to output 14V.

This is the power supply I used - DPS-750EB Rev A https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delta-Ele...YAAOSw-jxc4mhh
I can give instructions on how to modify it to output 14V.

I presume in theory it could void it for the transmission.

Well, you're not doing it to an Alpina so it's not designed to be on there, and the stealer / BMW will use any little thing to get out of a warranty repair.....is it really worth the risk on what's probably a £5k gearbox?
You pays your money etc

You could say the same about engine remapping.
The gearbox is the same though in the Alpina and the 335d, but yes if there's a drivetrain issue from the gearbox onwards then BMW could in theory use it to deny a warranty claim. Personally I think the alpina flash is quite mild compared to what I've read the xhp flash can do. I don't think alpina are in the business of shafting gearboxes in their cars. |

[QUOTE=bishbosh;25652539]Do you have the full psdzdata?
Hi yes I have the full PSZdata what I’ve figured out is if I don’t Change Typeschlussel to 3E51 for the F3X or XA71 for F1X models. This identifies the car as an Alpina. Step 8 Then I can calculate HIIT no changes for esg if I don’t follow step 8. however when I do change that then nothing is done it shows as a 0 in changes and am with the same issue. Any thoughts? Would coding it without the option be a issue also? Just playing with it and anything prior to I-step (shipm) f020-15 it calculates correctly anything after it won’t calculate anything. My car is f020-17-07-502 Last edited by Saroo; 01-11-2020 at 05:12 AM.. |

If I've already updated the i-step of my car (all modules) to this version (4.17.20), all I need to do is modify the FA by adding 920 and 9XA to SALAPA and change Typeschlussel to 3E51 (I have F32), then VO code EGS, correct?
