What car would you drive if you didn't have an F30?
Just wondering what you would buy if you didn't have the F30. For this exercise lets keep the price under 50k. I usually buy 2-3 year old used cars so I am more in the 30k range. Before I bought my F36 I really considered a Infinity Q60 but wanted a 4 door. The Q50 does not look as good as the Q60 so it was not an option. The Q50 Red Sport was out of my price range. I want an M3 but the prices are still so overinflated plus extra insurance cost and gas expense. Not that I am selling anytime soon. Just wondering...

Probably a WRX or an imported R34.

If I didn't have a B58 F30 then it would be on the list of cars to own
Others I might consider are perhaps an M3, VW Arteon R, Audi S5 sportsback, Or even an Audi A7. I also toyed around with a 2016 550i before I got my f30, it was fast but lacked some of the driving engagement of the 3 series. |

Well, when I bought mine, I was also considering the Mercedes C300/C350, Audi A4, Genesis G70.
So one of those, probably. But I'd rather have my F30.

I normally keep a sensible car and an ///M for 7-8 years (and 200,000 miles between them) - and swap out the ///M or the sensible car every 3-4 years.
This time I've kept the high mileage ///M (Z4MC with 160,000 miles on it - bought at 9,000 miles) and bought a sensible car to go alongside it (F30 320D with 40,000 miles). Last time it was an e34 M5 and a Alfa Romeo 147 JTDm. |

Porsche Panamera. If I'd known how well my investments would do over the last six years I'd have bought one in 2015.

Audi S5. Has always been my dream-car...
The F36 came as a surprise to me too (and I don't regret it).

I went from an F30 to two F80's back-to-back so I think the best logical step is get an M. It was nice to not only be both familiar with the car since they are both alike in many ways, but also blown away how different they are despite those similarities.

I'm currently looking for a replacement for my daily driver, a BMW i3, and a used Panamera S is a strong contender. Personally, I like unconventional cars, hence my i3, and the odd shape of the Panamera is attractive to me.

A used Panamera is cheaper than a new i3 and I'll probably just buy it and save on the residual. Plus, I've have 3 i3's already. The thing is, I really LOVED all 3 of my i3's. I'd say it was the best commuter car I've ever had, hence I went through 3 of them! Purely as a commuter, the i3 was better than my 328i, 340i and M3!

Weirdly enough, I never found a good seating position for long distance driving in either of my 328i, 340i, or both F80's until I lowered the seat almost to the floor last year. Try it!

Three i3s don't make a 9-series…. you know? Or did you want to prove that whilst 2 wrongs don't make 1 right, 3 do…? Just joking whatever makes you happy

In the 50k range? An F80, without question. But more realistically, F30's aren't going for 50k anymore, more like 30k. So in the 30k-ish range I'd go for one of these: B8.5 S4, E92 M3, B7 RS4... maybe some others I can't think of but there's not much that gets me excited available with a manual in that price range.
