Tune options for B48 330i

There isn't much discussion on increasing the power out of the b48 engine. What options to we 4/330 owners have?

Not much from BMW. The N20 had an MPE so they may come out with that for the B48. Otherwise it will be aftermarket, but it is still too new as it came out after the B58 which is still relatively new so may be a few more months before there is anything available.

I looked on burger motorsports website and the b58 box also works with b48/46. Not 50 state emissions legal and therefore not available in CA however. Though I'm sure there are ways you can get it.

JB+, BMS Stage1 and JB4 are all proven tunes that get you a nice boost in power.. If just want a mild boost the JB+ / stage1 is a great choice.

Only MPPK and MPPSK maintain factory warranty. Others may void warranty if damage is traced to the mod as the cause of factory component failure. the mod itself is warrantied by the vendor and not BMW. The mods that increase boost pressure may require you to upgrade your plastic charge pipe to steel as the stock plastic ones are prone to failure under higher than stock boost pressure. For B48 I believe there is an MPE but not sure as there was one for N20, but don't expect much as far as performance gains. The MPPSK is only for B58.

Only one that ever retains factory warranty is the BMW tune.

Dinan offer their own warranty if BMW decides not to do the work

With any other option you risking getting your warranty work denied. That being said, just remove the tune before your visit and you should be fine

My personal choice would be the dinan sport performance tuner, great starting point unless you wanna go straight to stage 1/2

I own a 2017 330i and itching to tune, are there really so few of these cars, there seems to be so little information or discussion about tuning the B48 330i?

DME is still uncracked.

There will be discussion on piggybacks, but that's about it until someone is able to crack the DME and get a tune to stick. Hoping by next year.

I have a JB+ on my 330i. There wasn't a lot of options for the 330 so I decided to give it a try.

I've only had it on for about 2 weeks so I haven't logged too many miles with it, but it makes the car a lot more fun to drive.

Yesterday I emailed a couple of places asking about when the BM3 would be ready for the B46/48. Got this answer:

Funny that my answer changed within a day of posting lol.

Looks like HCP (HC Performance or better known as Halim Cazimi who did the OTS maps with Dzenan for BM3) got into the B48 yesterday.
