The guy called you out for lowballing a practically new intake. It had been on the car for a week and the owner took off $90, so to throw $190 at him is an insult. That's great that you're new and welcome to the forums but it has little meaning on the concept of bartering, seeing as it's a universal trade.

Yes, that is what bartering is; however, what you did was lowballing which is heavily frowned upon as you're attempting to cheat the seller by trying to get them to sell it to you far under its value.

I guess I didn't read the memo where it said only the rich can have f30's??? I've only had mine for a few months and I've already done a decent amount of mods......

He wasn't implying that... He was stating that because the E46 is older (and thus cheaper), you can find cheap parts for them.
