Not so new car day
The MGF failed it's MOT a couple of weeks back. Nothing fatal, but a couple of jobs that are a bit of a pain. Wouldn't be the end of the world, but it isn't ULEZ compliant, and we are just outside, with a regular weekly journey inside, so it's use is limited. It only cost £850 2 1/2 years ago, and few hundred quid spent on it, so doesn't really owe us anything.
Still planning on getting something really nice at some point, but not how wanted to spend money at the moment, so another cheap and cheerful car was sought. Prompted by some conversations on here and Pistonheads, looked at a few options, including a mini, but really need a boot, so looked at TT's. Mrs thought it was a great idea as interesting, but more practical than the MG (she is a bit of a petrol head as well ). I was surprised at the mileage they have done, but eventually picked this up last weekend. Needs a couple of small jobs done, and it's 100k miles, which it turns out is quite low..... Not driven it much yet, but did do 70 miles back from Essex, and it seems OK. Will be interesting to see how it goes. |

I may be slightly biased, but they’re great cars and pretty bulletproof. Starts first time off the key every time.
Mine did 251 miles in the last year and is currently SORN for the winter pending a couple of bits needing done - full service, Haldex service and water pump/tensioners/belts |

I look at the car and think why no other manufacturer has attempted a car that looks like this.
There are no sharp angles on the bodywork that is delightful and sets it apart nicely from the crowd. The COD should be fabulous on this. The nomenclature is a giggle TT... TT's...TTRS |
