just wrapping this thread up as we have been now and I have to say Edinburgh was fab. We couldnt fit in half the recommendations as we only really had two full days but that's just an excuse to go back again, right.
Thanks for all the suggestions - they helped massively and as Terry says above, the best city for a visit, lots to do but small enough to feel manageable.... (PS for those commenting on busmans holiday - we stayed in the Premier Inn on York Place - great beds, great price, great location - but I may have wandered in the Balmoral, the Radisson on the Royal Mile, and a couple of others and have suggested to my boss, a Scot, that its time we had one up there again! We did have one where the new shopping centre is opposite the Balmoral but it was CPOd for redevelopment and we declined to take the option in there...) |
