Sweet!

I guess the weather and roads are decent since you have already had it up to 140mp (225kph).

I am SOOOOOOOOO jealous! Absolutely beautiful car and it looks like it's going to be an awesome trip. Please post all the pics when you can. And you absolutely made up my mind too - I was leaning towards MG but it's a done deal now.

Das leben ist gut, ja?

Congrats on your beautiful new ride.

My next BMW will be a Euro Delivery and Performance Center Delivery as well.
Once my lease is up on the X5 in 2 years.
Looking to get the new M3 or M5, depending on how the new M3 looks.

You doing the PCD as well?

Cool pics John; you stated that your Cannon has a lens 0f 18-200 . I have one as well on my Nikon that I will take with me in May for ED. My question is this: would you suggest packing a wide angle lens as well and what mil meter ? You might be better to answer that after a couple of days touring Europe.
Great picture inside the Welt of your new ride.

Ultra wide is very useful in Europe with all of the large buildings/sights and narrow streets. I bring my Sigma 10-20mm on all trips.

First things first - thanks everyone for the compliments!!! Otherwise, here's an update... First, my Internet connectivity is proving to be far slower and less reliable than I'd planned for. Grrr!! That is making this much harder, but here's at least a quick update since yesterday...

Drove down to Füssen and toured Neuschwanstein Castle today. The castle was pretty cool, but lots of exterior renovation going on, so I the photo's aren't so great. BUT driving the car down there and back on the windy roads down and the open autobahn on the way back was a blast!

Here's the requisite shot of the car in foreground and castle in background:

Gotta go for now - time to meet "Entropic Artist" and his buddy for dinner and celebratory beers!

Nice to see the front bumper without the US plate adapter! But what is that orange scar on the side just below the headlight wraparound?

Wow ! That is certainly a beautiful capture of your car and the castle in the back ground. What a classic photo and well positioned !

This is so cool! I have been meaning to take a trip back to Germany since I was there the only time in 2008. I also happen to be looking for a replacement for the 135i and it seems to be a fun idea. How much did it end up costing you? I see that it is supposed to be about 2-3k cheaper to do Euro delivery, but I'm kind of wondering about the hotels and flights.

Hi John,

Nice car and great combination of exterior and interior colours. Nice pictures.

I know the Internet connections when one is traveling is not the best.

I normally optimize my photos down as far as I can then upload of course is faster I use Image Optimizer ---> Click here for the link

I hope you had a chance to clime the steps of "Alter Peter" and had a nice meal and a beer or two in the Hofbräuhaus (see my garage for the pictures ---> Click for a picture of Alter Peter ... Church you may recognize the shot

Enjoy the rest of the trip and watch out on the Autobahn for the faster BMW's and Porsches

Tell us more of your impressions of the 335i as time goes on I'm planning on a 335i as our DD once the Coupes are rolling off the assembly line I understand in one year or so.

Re: US Plate adapter; I saw one fellow he had a specialized rear plate made in the US to match his front EURO plate. I will try to do this on our next ED for sure.

so it seems to me that "Mineral grey" is far and away, the most popular color for the F30...I agree that it looks awesome.. (that is until estoril blue comes out)

but also, make sure they don't slap on that stupid license plate holder when they bring it stateside!

As I recall, you receive a flat 7% off of base MSRP of the car (options not included for discount calculation) - that saved us about $4k. I viewed this as buying the car at about "invoice" or a little under. The vacation itself was not that expensive with the plane tickets being the priciest part - the best deal at the time was two tickets on KLM (a great airline by the way, as compared to American carriers) for $1,700 in late July 2009. Hotels, food, etc. were about another $2k and we had a blast!
