E-Sys Premium Launcher fails to start E-Sys
Hi All, I have installed both the E-Sys 3.27.1 and the Premium Launcher V2.5.3 along with the correct PZdata files. I have follows all instructions on installation but the launcher software will not start E-Sys. All that is displayed is the E-Sys splash screen then it closes.
If I manually start E-Sys I can access the car and all the files however when I go to edit and FDL it is asking for a PIN number which it does not have. I presume that is why the launcher needs to start first. I have uninstalled and reinstalled according to the instructions 3 times now and I know it is not something I am doing wrong, the launcher software is simply broken. Is there anyway of forcing the token to be read by E-Sys without the launcher software. Before anyone says use the search facility this has been done across numerous coding forums all with no additional help other than saying I have installed incorrectly. |

Potentially any additional error messages that may help provide information as to reason launcher is crashing.
The most common reason for a crash is setting memory too high. But, with that, you will get a JAVA machine runtime error popup. I not exactly sure what the requirements are for launcher, but you could try updating JAVA, vcredist, and .NET framework. |

Thanks for trying to help.
I have checked all the latest version have been installed for Java etc. I have Launcher set to medium memory setting. No Java error, in fact no errors at all it just opens the E-Sys splash screen then shuts. All I need to know is what pin number to enter into ESYS when it asks for it. Seems very strange that no one else has this issue. |

You do not need a token to VO code, but one is needed for FDL coding. Launcher creates token as well as provides mapping for FDL coding. The user specifies their own PIN, but the same PIN will not work if you launch E-sys directly (without Launcher) & try functions that require a token.

Thanks. That is exactly what I thought.
I am trying to do FDL coding which requires the PIN. I have generated a PIN and the FreeToken.est file but without launcher starting ESYS I cant access the token file and hence the PIN does not work. I am not clear on how Windows firewall may affect the launcher but have allowed the launcher and ESYS itself vi firewall rules. |

Windows Firewall and Antivirus (Defender) do not traditionally cause programs to not work (ie crash). Third party firewalls or antivirus security suites (eg, Norton, Avast, etc) can cause issues with connection to vehicle.
Which operating system are you using? |

I had the same problem. Try going to your programs and right click on ESys Premium Launcher. It should say modify or uninstall. Click on modify. That should have a menu that has repair in it. Click on that.
It worked for me. Good luck!!

Yes I have emailed developer but unfortunately no help so far. I am looking at reviewing the event viewer later to see if that helps.
What is plus version? |

I had similar issues, but got A Java Error box showing up behind the ESYS logo.
I searched tokenmaster blog and he mentioned how to install 64 bit version of java runtime. I did this and all problems went away. I get an error message and PSzDAPI.DLL failing to load, since 32 bit, but hit OK, wait a while and then ESYS appears and I can code away merrily. Maybe slower, than with DLL, but it works |
