Thanks To VIPER for DIY, i'v just do it but in my car (ITALY) the cables to be connected are not the same.

My original car with Heated mirrors, not folding, not electrocrom.

I do this by verifing schemes.

Pin 7 to pin 11 (Brown) Ground
Pin 8 to pin 2 (Blu green striped) Lin Bus
Pin 9 to pin 12 (Red) Power 12v

The only thing let me worried it's the pin 7/8/9 gauge AWG, it's 0,35mm insted 0.5mm of original +12v and ground wiring.

It seems that the passenger side mirror LINBUS is connected to the FEM module directly on F20. Which should be the same for F30

Hello,

How to know if a switch is working?

I've bought a switch (9208111-01) but I am thinking it's not working.

Neither windows nor even lights are working. Shouldn't it be plug and play? At least for the windows.

The driver mirror works as it should after coding.

Thanks!

EDIT: Works
Hey, I’m in the same boat. Did you use the same pins as the OP’s?

Ok, I’ve successfully added PF mirrors.
Contrary to the OP, I didn’t cut the wires but instead I’ve soldered some pins together in the switch with the Fold button. The said switch comes with only 6 pins therefore it’s necessary to solder 3 more (took them from a male PC fan plug).

Pin 7 must short with Pin 1 (ground)
Pin 8 must short with Pin 2 (Lin Bus)
Pin 9 must short with Pin 10 (power)

This way you don’t damage the original plug harness that is in the driver’s door and you could always use the original switch and recode back.

Hi POGNE.
I am to understand that you have inserted these 3 missing pins and connected with a soldering iron in the switch?

Pin 7 must short with Pin 1 (ground)
Pin 8 must short with Pin 2 (Lin Bus)
Pin 9 must short with Pin 10 (power)

There will be no short circuit if you put the original pins in their place and connect them as shown in the diagram. I took the pins out of another switch

Hi,

Yes, you're understanding correctly.

Just be careful about the pins you bridge: (my colors were different than yours btw, I kept yours to be clearer)
Pin 7 to pin 1 (Brown) : Ground
Pin 8 to pin 2 (Blu green striped) : Lin Bus
Pin 9 to pin 3 OR 10 : Power 12v ==> BE CAREFUL HERE: as you initially wrote "pin 9 to pin 12" which is incorrect as there should be no wire in pin 12. Both pin 3 and pin 10 provide 12v, so you should pick one. I chose pin 10 and it's working well. Pins 7/8/9 are connected to the passenger side so by bridging these with the appropriate pins from the driver side you make everything work without cutting wires.

You do not need to change any wiring, you can add 3 pins in the switch pack and bridge them with the ajacent pins, then no wiring changes are needed.

Welcome back.
There is 12v power on pin 10 and no power on pin 3.
Connector plugged into the switch when checking

Hello. There was no 12v on pin 3 because I was checking on the old switch

Hello. Connected without coding, everything works except dimming the mirrors and lowering the mirror in reverse

Quick question: When u say ‘switch pack’ do you mean the connector or on the switch itself? Where can I get the pins? What did u use to bridge them?

Switch pack = the panel in the door to control the windows and mirrors.

Pins can be bought on ebay, just add 3 to the connector and bridge them.

Hello. You originally posted ‘added 3 pins on the switch pack’. So is it the switch pack where you add the pins or the connector? 🤷🏻*♂️

You add the pins to the switch pack where the connector slots in.

May I kindly ask you to post a picture showing the master window switch with the pins bridged. I take it, pins were bridged at the farthest point inside the socket.
Did you add some fleece tape to insulate the bridges? Much appreciated

Nice work!!! Thanks for clarifying that. This is most definitely a cleaner approach. I rather do this than splice the wiring. I have a few PC Fans laying around from older gaming rigs, how did u get the pins out of those kind of fans?!? I can pull the pins out of one of those fans and take it to a pro for the bridging. Also, I have a 2017 F30, will the wiring/bridging be the same with my car as yours? I just received my mirrors and haven’t got the chance to look at the wiring harness for the mirror yet.

You can just buy the pins on ebay or maybe even Amazon.

The PCB's for these controllers are all the same, I have done many of these on F10's, F20,F30,F25 etc...

As you say, it saves cutting and splicing wires - that way, if you ever sell the car you can put it back to stock quickly and sell the folding mirrors as a plug and play solution (with coding)

If you have one of these lying around, cut the male part then strip the plastic piece. Then you may proceed with removing the tiny black insulation plastic and unsolder the pins from the wires. It takes 5-10min overall and it prevents a purchase on amazon and the like.
