one of the angel eyes is yellow, headlight or bulb problem?

i notice that one of the headlight angel eyes (outer angel eyes close to the fender) is yellow while the other 3 are white.

is it a headlight issue or bulb LED issue? Dealer request to replace the headlight (as usual dealers almost always never attempt to fix)

what do you guys think? headlight issue that requires full headlight replacement?

Thanks.

I believe it's just the LED module for that ring that's going bad. If you look under the headlights, you'll see a silver LED module for each ring. I don't remember if you need to remove the headlight to access the modules, but I'm sure you'll need to remove the bumper to get under the headlights.

Not sure if they can be fixed or not. Replacement shouldn't be too expensive I imagine. If you check on getbmwparts.com or realoem.com, you can look up your vehicle and find out what part number you need, then shop around from there.

FYI according to this thread (6 series, but same concept), it could be the LED module, but could also be the actual DRL ring that is starting to yellow. It may help to a get a close look at the ring in question and see if you notice any yellowing while the lights are off.

ah yes, after reading the 6post.com forum, yes, exactly like that yellow, it's very noticable, wow, that means a new headlight housing is needed to correct this problem...

expensive... not sure why a clear plastic can go yellow partially when it's in the same housing

You can use my vid to gain access to the module. The vid is for the xenon headlight module but the area is the same.

thanks, Solidjake. now how can this module or housing be broken in such a small short of time? especially the housing, since the lens is just plastic (or glass)?
