320i B48 Catted Downpipe

Hi,

Planning to get a Catted (200cel) downpipe for my 320i (b48, currently running BM3 st1), I am looking at this one from RM motors (couple members of this forum have used) https://rm-motors.com/en/produkt/dow...-b48-catalyst/ and this one on ebay: click link

These are 3.5inch catted downpipe. I have seen different diameters ranging from 3.5inch to 4.5inches, will the 3.5inch be sufficient for stage 2 bm3? And, how would the 3.5inch differ to a 4 or 4.5inch catted downpipe?

There also seems to be a Euro 3 and Euro 4 options for the 200 CEL, I didn't know downpipes had euro emissions options. Can anyone shine some light on this? (the Euro 4 is about £150 more dear)

I'm looking at the same DP for my 330e. I'm going to go with the euro 4 one. My car is a hybrid, so I don't have to do emission testing. So I can get away with a decat. But I don't like the smell that comes from a decat. Plus they are a bit too loud. RM have a great reputation and they're involved in Motorsport.

Ah nice, let me know how it goes when you do get it.

In the UK we have an annual MOT where emissions are checked, hence why I am looking to opt for a 200 Cel catted downpipe. But I am not sure whether the euro rating of the downpipe has any relevance or effect to an MOT emissions check? (Anyone got a clue?).

Do they do emissions testing on hybrid in the UK?

Nope, hybrid vehicles do not go through the emissions test as a part of the MOT

RM do a DP that has a silencer on it that looks like a cat if you wanted to go down the route. Esp if there is no emission testing

Most catted downpipes will throw a CEL and are not legal to use on the street, I recommend you check the Active Autowerke B48 downpipe, it uses GESI cats with no CEL guarantee

Unfortunately for me, my car is a 320i - so will need to go through the emissions test

I am not too concerned about CEL, since I can remove it with bootmod3. Sport cats are okay to run in the UK, so long that I pass the annual emissions test. The AA downpipe is an attractive option but it is above my budget

Hello! Do you have any experience with BMW B48 engine? I want to buy GESI 10030 (EURO2/3), I am tormented with the question, will it be necessary to programmatically disable the lambda with the euro 2/3 catalyst?
Or put Euro5 cat, if I don't want to turn it off, right? Now I put myself a catless downpipe, naturally it turned out nonsense - the exhaust rings. And I noticed that when the cat check is turned off (MGFlasher), the mixture riches, smokes much more and the consumption is higher. We turn on the cat back - there is no smoke, the consumption is lower, but of course the cat error turns on. The dilemma in general...

Using the MG Flasher app. Can you select DTC Code masking to hide the DTC fault. It's on the custom options section

It's still showing on my app (Android). App version 250, build 401. Did you scroll down to the end on options?

Didn't know 320 got B48 engine. I assume all 320 in USA are N20. Is N20 a defunct engine no longer being used for new vehicles ?

Some of us can’t go catless because of emissions testing/checks in our area.

I priced out a catted dp and labor and said I’m good with stage 1. My son turns 16 in two years, he can have my car and I will get a B58 or S58.

Hello, I own MGFlasher stage 2 with 200cpsi downpipe on B48 F20 120i.
I always keep selected "disable system monitoring" (cat check), so you are telling me the consumption is lower with this function off?

Yes! Exactly!
In addition, when I was shooting downpipe to install a sportcat, I saw too much soot on it inside and on the lambdas. MGF in DECAT mode - too rich mixture, I think.

Did you contact MG support?
Maybe with catless downpipe is different.
