No further parts are required.
Only change with the old panel and coding.
Works only with IHKA3.

Ok I have a 2015 335i can I just install the AC unit now and code later (in about a week)? It should work in amber for now right?

Perfect just installed. Fow now the light only shines white at all times but all the buttons work and functions as it should. Once I code it next week it should work as intended! Thanks!

Hi,
I have a F31 manufactured 06/2014 according to RealOEM. Does that mean I have IHKA3 already and it's a straight swap?

I have found 64119363546-02 for a reasonable sum - is that correct for a car with heated seats?

Cheers

The unit is a straight swap, but until IHKA3 is coded, it'll always illuminate in white.

The white screen control panel came in 08/2015.
But the retrofit of the new Control Panel should be possible for cars from 03/2014 upwards.
To find a cheap one on eBay you need much luck.
Why could this not be done on a MY 2013?

What changed in 3/2014 that only newer cars can change out the AC Control panel and make this work?

From 03/2014 the IHKA3 Module is equipped, before it was the IHKA Module. It's not possible to get the new panel to work with IHKA.
Also retrofitting the IHKA3 Module wasn't successful yet.

Where is the IHKA/IHKA3 module located in the f30 and what is the part number?

Clearly the IHKA3 module and the AC Panel listed in Post 1 are needed to make this work, so I am trying to grasp where the IHKA3 that was installed starting in 3/2014 is located and it's part number, as I (and others) thought was was in the actual AC Control Panel that one would replace.

Integriertes Heizung und Klima (Integrated Heating and Air Conditioning) sure sounds like it's the front panel. The name if the module has been the same since the 3 series.

Thanks.

My F31 was built "Prod.date 2014-02-17" Would I be able to add the white control led part? From what I read i should be able to add the piano black bezel since if im correct.

If possible id like to add the white/orange displace on my AC control. I think it looks sharp

Oh my car also has the lighting package code 563.

What will happen if you connect the new controls to the old IHKA (IHKA2)?
Will it not work at all, or just without the new colour changes?

Question for OP:

Probably stupid, but how are you switching between amber & white display with this LCI unit?

On my pre-LCI the display is always amber - whether it be day or night, Comfort or Sport mode

This happens automatically. When it gets dark, it switches to amber. When it is bright again on white.

Ah, OK - Thanx!

In his video it is dark, yet the display could be switched back and forth between amber/white? That's the part i didn't understand

Sounded like he was throwing some switch in background when it happened

Ah yes, you're right.
Maybe he is switching the light switch from automatic to 0 and back.
I did not test it.

Yes, just using the light switch to demonstrate the color switching between "daytime" and "nighttime" modes

Got mine installed today - love the newer look to the display & white/amber switching

My car has BD of 9/14 so correct module already installed - all worx perfectly as it should

>> Curiosity - when I 1st installed the new HVAC, the lighting was switching between amber/white as it should WITHOUT coding Then a couple weeks later, all of a sudden it stopped switching & remained in white, so I had to code. Anyone know why this happened?

I also did NOT notice the display flashing for a couple minutes, as it initialized, as one member stated previously - worked as soon as I plugged it in. Mine was a used unit purchased from forum member, maybe the flashing to initialize only happens with new/never installed units

Thanx to TIM for the info on this!
