Mine does it too when I use the paddle
Shifters and shift. Happens during 1-2 and 3-4 at times. It happens when the shift point isn't ideal. Sometimes I feel like it's coming from the wheels/tires. I'm running 403m's.

which dealer is that?

Weird that I just heard this for the first time last night and happened to see the thread this morning. Very curious to find out what BMW comes up with, but glad it is under formal investigation now. My first thought was that I chirped the tires after slamming into gear.

BTW, 6MT here. Sounds like we're all affected.

I had scheduled an appointment but think I will cancel. Seems like they won't have a solution for the problem yet.

just got my car back... no squeak so far.

after trying a couple of things, they emptied out the freon and put it back at suggested levels or pressure... i don't remember what they said. Apparently it was the only issue they found. everything else seemed great.

So far no squeak. will keep you posted.

Freon is not coolant, it's refrigerant.

8 speed auto here and i started having this issue around 700 miles. Currently at 3.5k and still happens within first 3 mins of car starting (not warmed up) in 1st and 2nd gear (sport & sport + mode only)
However the other day i was driving for 30+ mins and then decided to go WOT with a/c on and the infamous squeak came back to haunt me.

I had asked them if they can apply more tension on the belt... They said that we have a self adjusting tensioner... Maybe that's the problem.
The solution for the E9X M3's was to change all tensioners and belts and apply the right amount of tension. However, they can't do that with the B58's.

Hello,
on friday, on my way to work, I also heard this sound, and assumed it was not my car. Well this confirmed it was my car and is an issue. Please keep this thread up to date on your developments! I was not able to reproduce it again. But as you all mentioned, I had the transmission in the Manual/Sport mode when it happened.

I've been keeping an eye out for bulletins with no success yet. I don't think replacing parts with identical ones is going to do much good at this point. I'm sure NA is aware of the issue and is currently working on revised parts. I'll be sure to update if I see or hear anything.
