Apple CarPlay Retrofit - Done! (Update:16/11/18...now also with full screen function)

I have a NBT installed and has been working great but over past few weeks the system has frozen.
I contact the seller and they said they would get an update file to me but since then i have heard nothing back.
Anyone know where to go to get this

Version i am running now
SDK Version 25.0.0.7.0.0.2.0
CUST Version B2_v1.5.10
MCU Version 21.6.7.116
HW Version BMW_NBT2_1_G

So I have the basic stereo and I am considering a vibe plug and play amplifier, as well as the amp I’m wanting an android head unit. Should this all be a case of rolling instructions? Also do I need to be computer minded to enjoy this system as seems a lot of posts are about issues.

Hi all,

I coded CarPlay using FEMTOevo last year (NBT evo). Everything is working perfectly. The car is going in for a service very soon and I'm worried that if they try to update the firmware in the headunit I'm going to lose functionality and it will be a costly fix.

My preferred course of action is to 'restore to stock' prior to service and then reinstall post-service. I contacted the seller and was told this is not an option.

When I ran the installer, a file called FSC_VD10661_012007C.fsc was saved on my computer. Not sure if this is a copy of the original codes or the newly created codes.

Could anyone advise how I might be able to remove CarPlay?

The FSC that was saved to your desktop is for the Map version on your idrive.

I don't know how the FEMTOEVO solution works but if it is like Feature Installer then to revert to factory FSC's you will need to clear the FSC codes installed, flash the headunit then inject the OEM codes.

if you have an ENET cable I can take a look remotely for you and ascetain the situation - no charge.

I purchased a June 2018 BMW X3 - it was advertised as having CarPlay by the independent dealer. I’ve only realised it doesn’t.

I contacted BMW directly with my VIN. They said the following:

Looking at your vehicle specification, I can confirm that the Apple Car Play isn’t available for your vehicle.

In order to purchase or use Apple Car Play after production, a BMW must be fitted with BMW Professional Media system (609), the latest iDrive software (ID5/ID6/ID7) and one of the following options:

Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging (6NW)
Navigation System Professional. (609)

Due to the specification of the vehicle you’re not able to have Apple CarPlay in your vehicle. Your vehicle has got ‘Hands-free Bluetooth’ and this isn’t something that can be retrofitted as an aftermarket option.

I was under the impression I had Professional Media system (609) and iDrive ID6.

I know I don’t have wireless charging so how do I check if I have NavPro 609?

my dealer in Germany is unable to update my Headunit because of the installed apple carplay. Is there any change for me to get this issue fixed?

I'm really piss…and my car needs to stay the whole weekend at my dealer.

I had carplay installed for a long time via the enet cable on my 2018 320i, but after a dealer upgrade to NBTevo_Y21432J I am not longer able to get it to work. It looks like it installs, but will never connect to caplay. Wibbles any ideas??

Huge shoutout to kubax86 . Was able to get my carplay working again after the dealership upgraded it to version Y and it would no longer install with the enet cable. Super easy to work with and got everything working as it should with no hiccups. I appreciate your help!!

If I would to have informations about FSC activation like Apple car play and VIM, lifetime maps update, LIM?

How I can trust sellers on bay sells FSC pack (apple car play, full screen, VIM, europe EVO lifetime maps) for about 30-35eur?

I readed those use HU TOOLS to generate those FSC code, but first it is not compatible to lastest I-step release and then seems codes generated not fully works.

They are not using HU TOOL, more likely HU Engineering Tool, which generates Feature Installer codes.
