Cool, hopefully mine is one that's shipped. Can't wait to see the dyno of the catless dp vs the hfc dp! I hope I'm not losing too much powa with the hfc!

would like to go in for something like this to increase power but does it not bother people that the car does not remain street legal after these mods? Or is something like dark tints are also not street legal, but a lot of people do it anyway?

Are you going to run a GB for the introduction? I'd be down for a catted version...NICELY crafted.

How much HP does each downpipe add? Also can you explain the difference between the two?
How much louder would this make your car once you add it? Is it going to be super noticeable to authorities, or would it still be low key? |

AFAIK, because the cat's main purpose is to make the exhaust "cleaner," it doesn't affect the sound nearly as much as the muffler. From what I've seen on YouTube it seems to make the exhaust throatier more than anything else. The goal of removing the cat is to improve the flow of the exhaust. The catless pipe will be louder than the HFC. Edit: This is from the stage1 thread: Quote:
So long as the downpipe doesn't throw codes and your exhaust can pass emissions, you should be okay. IF you're caught though... well good luck. Anyways, if you're going WOT past a cop in an exhaust modified (even the M-Perf exhaust) 335i then you're probably going to get pulled over with or without the modified downpipe. As always - correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still a novice in this arena.

Our dynos have been on tests with out full exhaust only at the moment. The HFC model has a 200 cell high flow cat on it which will still filter some emissions where the other has the cat completely removed for the highest flow possible. There should only be about a 5 HP difference between them with basic mods

We have not seen any CEL for the HFC version on the current ECU version for the F30s. We tested this for about 3k miles. The catless downpipe will through a CEL and will require a tune or flash to correct.
