picked up our f30 on Monday..
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com black/black; sport line; premium...we are a little aggravated with the salesman who told us our normal iPod cord would work..i came to realize (through trial+error and googling) that you need the BMW Y-Cord, unless you have Nav (which we didn't want).. Very happy with the car.. the auto on-off is a little trippy and will take some getting used to.. but man, that sports package really makes the car look slick! we did a 36 month lease and did the one-pay option. traded in an 06 Mercedes ML500

Congrats! Sportline in black always looks slick.
More pics please (and maybe a review)! Don't get me started on the whole iPod connectivity thing. BMW fail! |

and my quick review of it..
Wow. That N20 packs a serious punch for a 2.0L Turbo.. I have a 2010 VW GTI with a 2 liter turbocharged motor, and it's not even close to the N20. The automatic transmission is smooth. The interior is refined, yet sporty -- it doesn't have an overly-contrived feel. Things are intuitive once you're inside (except for the central door lock/unlock button, which I've never understood on BMWs). The steering wheel is solid (though not nearly as tight/sporty as a 335 coupe w/ sport pkg). The right is smooth (though getting rid of the run-flats would make it even better). The sunroof is great, the backseat is extremely roomy! You get an extra inch or so of leg room over the C250 and the A4. We haven't gone through a tank of gas yet, so I can't comment on the efficiency, but on the way, we're sitting at like 2000rpm and going 65mph, so i'm guessing we're in the 35mpg range. I had read this and it's true: the N20 can definitely sound a little diesley at times, but when you open it up, it sounds AWESOME. The standard stereo is excellent! The multimedia display is amazing, especially as a standard feature on the car. Full iPod control from the iDrive as a standard option is pretty frikkin awesome. We didn't get nav, because in our other cars in which we DID have it, we NEVER used it. The seats are extremely comfortable.. especially w/ the sport package and you can control the bolster, lumbar, power everything..it's great. So far, we are VERY impressed with the car! and that Sport pkg comes with the nicest wheels, man..a HUGE step up from the luxury/modern line, IMO. this is my wife's car (well, both of ours, I guess, but primarily hers).. I'd like to get the new 335 coupe/convertible when it comes out.. anyone know when that will be?

why do people call it Nav when its called the Technology Package?
Navigation, a larger/sharper screen, HUD, better Ipod integration, etc. So much more than just Navigation... I'd never pay $2.5k for just navigation, but for all those features I'd say the price is a bit more justified. |

ok, we can quibble. still not worth the $ to me. and when you can get only get navigation via the techology package, people are going to refer to it as nav; especially since the nav part of the technology package is why MOST people want it -- not for a sharper screen. might as well get used to it.

Hey all. Thought you may all benefit from this link. It is a link to the Y-Cable required to connect an apple i-device to our vehicles. I have ordered one and am awaiting delivery. I'll post to confirm that it works on our cars once I recieve the cable.
$3.43 USD vs $70 or so from dealer?? http://dx.com/3-in-1-usb-3-5mm-aux-a...ack-1-2m-34654 |

You said: "that Sport pkg comes with the nicest wheels, man..a HUGE step up from the luxury/modern line, IMO."
I said: "What's different about the sport line wheels vs the luxury/modern wheels? Besides how the rims look..." I'm asking if you're just commenting on aesthetics or if there's a functional difference between the wheels. |
