I wonder if bmw even knows which shifter will be put on the new zf 8 speed trans but I guess the trans itself doesnt make a differnce. I bet it will be the same one on the 5.

If I'm not mistaken they already use this shifter in the 3-series overseas. I'm pretty sure the F30 will get it.

My 2010 335d automatic (not DCT) has the standard shifter whereas my wifes 2008 X5 has the electronic one.

Im pretty sure you can push the start button without pressing the brake and then shift the car into neutral without turning the engine on.
