How Do I Fix Holes in the Bumper From License Plates?

Unfortunately, the previous owner of my car drilled out the bumper for a license plate frame. I'm not to keen on paying several hundred to fix and repaint it nor am I very interested in popping in those ugly bumper nipples known as "bumper plugs"

The only thing I can think of is a much smaller bumper plug. This guy did a DIY.

I'd take it a step further and even sand those down so they lay almost flat.

Any other suggestions?

Filling and painting is the only option. Easy if you know what you're doing and have the tools, expensive if you don't.

Cheap solution: cut dime-sized pieces of high-quality 3m gloss vinyl. Use the extra to replace ‘em regularly to keep them fresh. Trick is color matching - though you could always touch-up paint on clear…

That’s what I was thinking too! There are a couple companies that make them color matched. https://www.colorxlabs.com/blogs/new...vinyl-stickers

Very interesting! I wonder if this would really work.

I bought those a while ago. My car was originally from New Jersey so it has four holes grossly tapped into the front bumper.

The problem with those stickers is they're only colored on the surface and the little flat three dimensional part of the paper .. that's only 0.1mm thick is still white and you can see that on a black car. It stood out pretty good. The piece of paper aspect of it you know what I mean.

If you have Alpine White they might match nicely and you won't be able to see the white paper thin piece where it's not colored. But on black the real thin white ring just stood out and didn't look like it was worth doing.

I ended up just wet sanding the holes down to remove the plastic burrs but they're just there still. I will eventually have the whole bumper resprayed as it's a bit scuffed up underneath by now.
