The pinion seal was leaking, so they replaced it. Everything else on the list is just things they needed to do in order to do that.

I recently had them tell me the same thing. Quoted me 1300 CAN for the job.

Is that reasonable?

How many miles does your car have?

My passenger side rear diff was leaking under warranty. About 5-10k miles later, the driver side leaks but I was out of warranty. I ordered the new seal and collar nut for about $50 and had a shop do the repair. I paid about $400 for them to replace the seal and drain/fill with diff fluid.

Thanks for the details.

I currently have about 100,000km on the car so I'm no longer under warranty.

I will likely try and find a smaller shop to do the repair for a better price

Did you get a solution for this? I was notified last Friday that my front diff pinion seal was leaking and quoted me over $700 for the fix, including a fluid drain and replace. The parts are not expensive and I'd much prefer to do it myself.

Paddock did mine. They're in Denver. Autosport Werks in Broomfield also do good work and they're relatively affordable. But yeah, you just need the seal and the fluid.
