Maybe the priciest of the lot but in my opinion, it's the best looking one as well as the most technologically advanced, the shape of the filter and housing creating a Venturi effect, thus increasing air velocity.
go on . what does a certain increase in air velocity at a certain point do to your engine ?

I'm leaning towards the Dinan intake. Looks killer in the engine bay. After seeing that post about the resin yellowing over time though, I'm not so sure.

The kit is also provided with an air scoop to enhance air flow.

And on top of that, the sound it produce is fantastic !
For the price, it should be a sealed box better using the inlet for air IMO. It does look sweet though.

I ended up ordering the AFe Magnum Force, Pro 5R filter, and AFe air scoop with it. Basically a top cover / baffle delete on the tubing and filter for the stock lower half air box

I agree. I can't remember where, but I saw a note that they were updating it to be enclosed. If you look at the A90 Supra version it's completely enclosed.

So for those interested in the subject I will again post my dyno graphs of one mans results from the route that I chose to go. I am making no claims nor endorsements. Just providing a little empirical data.

Background info: same dyno; same approximate temp and humidity. Dinan claims "MAX" increases of 13HP and 11FPT at the wheels.

First graph: MPPSK - Dinan Elite Stg.1 tune - stock AI
Second graph: with Dinan CAI

The result is an increase of 11HP and 12FPT at the wheels. Matches Dinan's claims, and is probably about as much of an increase as any of these products is likely to provide.
To play devil's advocate...one dyno shows a time around 3 pm, another shows a time around 8 pm.

If these were done on different days, I would say that it could just as easily be the natural variance you get from running a dyno on two separate days...

Or an operator who ran it after lunch vs late end of day..

lots of possible factors here that are common to the variances that exist in dynos..

My mechanic told me to put my stock intake back.

I just installed a BMS B58 Billet Intake, and so far, no noticable improvement by itself. So I bought a new performance downpipe, and took to my mechanic for installation,

After installation he told me the downpipe was fine but that i should put the stock cold air intake back. It would perform better than the high-flow one I got. This was becasue the intace is placed next to the turbos and is the hottest place in the enginebay. All I would be doing would be sucking up very hot-air, which would defeat the purpose of an intake upgrade.

What's the verdict on this?

I had the BMS B48 version and didn't notice any change other than it made a better sound. lol
I bought the BMS version because I installed the OCC as well.

I just switched it back to stock since I want the car stock for my daughter. Going to take my BM3 off it too. She doesn't need the increase.

New guy here, just wanted to throw out my $0.02. I put on the AP intake about a year ago. It sounds amazing and I haven't noticed any lose in power due to increased air temps. I did add the AFE scoop and I also lined the bottom and back side of the heat shield with a thermo-tec heat shield. I've used this before for wrapping air boxes and it works really well. It's adhesive backed, fiberglass insulation, then a foil heat reflector on the outside. I figured just a metal heat shield alone will only work for a while until it gets heat soaked, so keeping the heat off of it was key.

Congrats CPA440xi. I'm looking to buy this intake myself. Could you share some impressions? Sound, power, throttle feel..etc.. Oh and did you have MPPSK on your car before the intake? (I know the MAS will just adjust based on more air, but I'm trying to discern how beneficial it is to get an intake if you have the MPPSK...)

I've got MPPSK and the Dinan intake (added after MPPSK).

Induction/turbo sound - negligible, almost none
Power/feel - negligible, seat of the pants dyno says minimal to no gains

It's just a really nice looking intake that nobody will ever see

Hi. I'm consider two options for the intake, both withe the air scoop and dry filter.

1. https://afepower.com/afe-power-51-12...-intake-system

2. Stock air box with: https://afepower.com/afe-power-31-10...y-s-air-filter

My current setup is:
440i
MPPAS exhoust
Wagner DP 200 cat
VRS charge pipe
Supra HPFP
Custom tune 500 HP

I wonder which option choose. Please list the pros and cons of each option.
