Removing the back panel of the front seat?

Hi,

Has anyone removed the plastic seat panel of the rear of their f30 front seat ? I have a plastic rattling comming from inside the rear of the front passanger seat and want to remove this panel to investigate. Any tips on how it's held on or removal?

Thanks.

Sorry, have no idea. You may want to reword your subject line to 'removing the back panel of the front seat' as it may catch the eye of someone who has done this before. It is unclear now what it is you are looking for in your subject line.
Good luck, someone will repond in time.

It's quite easy. A few pins/screws on bottom then slide it off.

I found “release” easier said than done.

They need to be cut (snipped if you will). Wire clippers are sufficient

Likewise, you need to order replacements from your BMW Dealer.

Thanks

Once these are removed, is it held in place at the top of the seat as well?

It has lips along the way and you need to maneuver/slide it downward and out.

Thanks for that. If new rivets are essential I will order them first. Would you know if the part number of them could be found online?

I find it stupid to order 2 pins that cost less than a $1 at a Dealer and pay $15 to ship them.

You do not need to wait as the fit is pretty tight until you get the pin.

Part 52201964201 2 per seat.

Thanks, I'm hoping it's relatively easy to locate the rattle. When you hit the back part of the seat you can hear something plastic rattle/vibrate in the seat. When you press the plastic part firm against the seat and hit the same area its fine.

I didn't have a hard time removing these nor did I need to cut anything. Took me under a min to get the back off of my seat

Clearly you had better luck than me.

They deformed as I was attempting to pry them out and I decided for 50 cents I’d rather have new non-deformed pins that would also be more secure than fooling around with it and potentially marring the plastic seat back cover cosmetically in the process.

Of course, I’ve also been called an elitist in another thread because I’d rather pay for a 50¢ Pin instead of possibly marring the seat pulling on the expansion pin that’s designed not to come out.

I'd do the same thing if mine had been deformed. However I had an easier time removing them without causing any damage. I too like to be extremely careful with my car and would have replaced small clips like these if they had any damage.

I used a small pry tool and that worked really well. Maybe the back of a small hammer would work well too.

Mine pulled out using my finger nails.

Very easy job, I replaced mine for the ones with the net storage.

u dont have to pay for the pins. I just replaced yesterday since the rear panel net was loose. You can just reuse the old pins.

My pins came out pretty easily too when I took my cover off while contrast stitching my seats. You may need to push on the panel to get the holes to align better. Also, pushing on the panel where the "hooks" in the middle of it are made it easier to slide on/off.

Hey, I’m having the exact same rattling issue in my e90. Have you been able to solve what was causing the rattle? Sounds like a loose piece on my end too, haven’t taken the cover off yet. The side parts of my front passenger seat don’t adjust but I can hear the motor running, I’m thinking this might have something to do with it.
