I've had a build page up on the M3 post (see build page at http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=947904), but new on this page. There's an incredible wealth of info here and hoping for some retrofit help. I've been building my take on the ultimate driving machine, a hot rod with the full drivetrain from a 2008 BMW e90 M3, S65, rear suspension and 6MT, with an Active Autowerkes supercharger., etc The S65 is running on a Pectel SQ6M and dash cluster is the Pectel ICD so no BMW can networks. Chassis is a highly modified Factory Five Racing tubular race chassis and will run their 1933 Ford body.
To infuse the project with a little more BMW DNA, procured the full set-up from a '13 F10: NBT, 10" display, ZGW, telematics box, idrive controller, USB plug, shark-fin antenna, pigtails,etc. 'Ive seen CAS elimination modules for CIC, but not NBT. As I effectively have a blank canvas, I'm intending to run as a pure stand-alone, so looking to wake system up and to get started with programming help, although hoping since all came from same car and all was active (nav, sires, voice, etc), can be kept to a minimum. All thoughts, particularly Shawn's, greatly appreciated. |

Thanks Bro!!! Really appreciate it and can really use your thought. This whole BMW based project has been problem solving! I've seen postings about NBT working on desktop, some guy put one in a Volvo. There's a CAS emulator I've seen that says for CIC but not NBT. Surely with a ZGW it can be it's own standalone can for NAV radio and connectivity. I just don't need it to integrate with the other car functions. -- I

Morning,
A little bit of help please. I got my cable, software from Shawn and though I'll have a look what's what yesterday. Managed to connect fine, read the CAF files - didn't change any values for anything but at one point I clicked Code by mistake and it did save FEM_BODY data back to the car. I thought - that's fine as I didn't change any values, however today I've noticed that when I tap the indicator it only indicate once - not three as it should, so clearly some values have been changed. Two questions: - How would that happen if I didn't actually change any values. - I've made copies of CAF files after reading them - what't the procedure to re-code that module back to original? just read again, and check the values
FEMBODY > 3060 > Blinkzyklen_anzahl_tipp for 3 clicks it should have a werte=02 better do not restore, just check en recode if neccessary and do NOT click "code default values " |
