93 octane limits

I'm looking into a speedtech kit and all the fuels as long as its 93 octane only. No E-anything, no port injection, no meth. I am wondering where I'd end up with all the supporting mods and basically run into the octane limit for the compression ratio. I assume that is the limiting factor.

I've seen maybe 525whp. Thoughts?

Depends on the turbo you pick and the quality of your 93 octane, but at least 500whp SAE.

500whp sound optimistic to me. The approach would probably be to run less boost but more timing and in that case I think anything bigger than a PS2 i overkill..?

I get 490-500 crank hp with 93+meth on a PS2.

PS2 OTS with 93 (PWG)

I would future proof with the 8374 assuming I swap 9.5:1 pistons down the road.

You would be surprised with how much of a difference the aftermarket exhaust manifold helps with back pressure and efficiency. Spool with the Borg Warner 7670 or 8374 will be better than the PS2 as well.

With a great tuner, my Speedtech 7670 kit managed to do 540whp on E40 on a very conservative tune.

As OP plans on lowering their compression ratio to be able to run higher boost with lower octane, that makes Speedtech an even more reasonable choice.

Great choice! Although I chose the 7670 which basically spools like stock, the 8374 isn't that far behind and has more top end if you're going 600whp+.

Alternatively since you may go lower compression, you can ask Jeff at Speedtech about the 8474 if you want to shoot for more. Its a newer style turbo that's pretty much better than the 8374 in every way with the caveat of an additional 100-200rpm in spool time.

Is this log with STOCK HPFP? There's quite a few dips of rail pressure!!! Unless that common with PWG

PWG has no drivability issues with pressures down to 1200psi from experience. Not nearly as sensitive as EWG.

Coolit pump and Torqbyte controller. Custom wire harness and nozzle setup with stainless fittings.

Search YouTube for Torqbyte and npharkes then you will find some videos
