Question 2019 BMW 440i - Thoughts on pricing?

Any thoughts on the pricing of this car:

Carfax: https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...6pRct38rPkBjjU

Yes I know, it's an insane time to buy and prices are inflated, but I have no choice. My current car (2008 G37s) is broken down in need of a repair that's half the value of the car.

I'm basically just looking for a fun daily driver. I owned an 1997 328is in the past and I loved that car, so it would be cool to get back into the BMW scene.

Considerations:
- This is being sold by a Porsche dealer so I'm assuming any remaining warranty is non-transferable (please correct me if I'm wrong on that).

- Carfax is clean but I don't see any maintenance records on it. Wondering if this car went 19k miles without an oil change or other maintenance. Is there any way to know?

Imo - seems par for the course for pricing nowadays.

However, back in august i bought a 440i rwd CPO directly from BMW for the same price 43.9k at 18.9k miles. So new tires fluids and extra year of warranty cus of CPO. I also got 1.5k off in rebates (500 for bmw trade in and 1k as a ‘recent’ grad) and the spec seems much better than this one - mine came with track handling package, ICON adaptive LEDs, red leather interior, blind spot detection, etc.

What i recommend is check out carmax, as they seem to have really good deals pop up occasionally so just keep an eye on the website and very competitive extended warranty pricing. No reason to spend this much if youre not getting a CPO. The remaining warranty is transferrable on any bmw just so you know (i think its 4 years/50k miles from date of production)

Wow used car prices are insane these days. I'd say wait for prices to come down. Maybe find a beater somewhere (yah I know that is not easy these days).

Seems like a clean car but it could've been a demo car. Almost 5k miles before it was registered to the first owner? In terms of the warranty, the original 4yr/50k mi warranty is transferable but who knows if there is any warranty left as the warranty starts from the first in-service date which is unknown. I would call your local BMW dealer and ask for service records.

In terms of pricing, it seems around the average price these cars go for. I got my 2018 440xi GC with similar specs w/ 7.9k miles for $41k last July. I believe I got a pretty decent deal considering the market.

Even beaters are inflated though so if I'm going to buy inflated, why not buy a nice car inflated?

People have been saying wait for prices to come down for ages now. Whether it be cars or houses or computer hardware. I don't see any guarantee that prices are going to come crashing down anytime soon. This might just be the new normal in this crazy world.

Back in September I paid $42,999 for my '19 xdrive coupe with 11.6k miles on it, from carmax . ( My car's MSRP was $60,500 )... So I don't think the deal is too bad. That being said I was also very happy with what they gave me for my trade in.. So overall I thought my deal was great.

Very good point. Is there any way of knowing if it was a loaner vs. some dealership exec driving it?

You'd have to call the original selling dealer and ask for some background on the car. Some dealers are transparent, some aren't. It looks like the car was sold by a dealership in Durham, NC. I'm guessing BMW of South Point. I'd call them and ask about service history, verify warranty, and ask why it was sold with almost 5k miles on it.
