Thanks for all the useful info.

Decided to purchase some ACS springs in the end and had fitted by Mulgari in Bracknell. They're just in the process of moving premises at the moment but really helpful, friendly and most importantly did a good job of installing.

Really happy with the lowering, nice and even and get pretty much bang on the 2cm all round lowering. Ride is pretty much stock for the most part but feels more planted when pushing on, my wife didn't notice the difference.

BEFORE

AFTER

BEFORE measurements:
Passenger front - 37cm
Passenger rear - 37cm
Driver front - 37.3cm
Driver rear - 36cm

AFTER measurements:
Passenger front - 35cm
Passenger rear - 35cm
Driver front - 35cm
Driver rear - 34.5m

Total LOWERING:
Passenger front - 2cm
Passenger rear - 2cm
Driver front - 2.3cm
Driver rear - 2.5cm

This looks perfect. I've got a 430d (non XD) and I think its the same kit part number.

Only thing that MIGHT make a difference is I don't have the adaptive suspension?

Adaptive makes no difference, but the 430d has a slightly different kit, number 3130233360 for RWD convertible.

It's a f36 gran coupe not a convertible.

Is the ACS kit different from the Eibach kit for the 430d GC like the springs have different lengths on the 435?

As the suspension on my 430d convertible is becoming barge like unless I switch to sport mode then its just bouncy - how much would it cost to have that kit supplied & fitted in Watford?

You're going to need new dampers, not just springs.

I'll have to do some digging on this. Bear with

Re spacers. I think it was your website that said the minimum on the rear is 12mm? Any reason for this.

Yes, lower at the rear.

On the rear hubs there is a lip which precludes fitting a hubcentric spacer thinner than 12mm. You could fit a flat 10mm spacer, but we're not keen on those. It's important that the wheel is centred properly on the nose of the spacer and isn't relying solely on the wheel bolts for location.

Lorcan, thanks for the reply. My nearest stockist is R-Tec in St Albans but they don't list AC Schnitzer in their suspension products.

They've not got around to listing them on their website but if you contact the sales team they will be able to offer you a fitted price. I was there last week.

Surprised lower at the rear. I have seen all the posts showing why a car always looks higher at the front due to the larger arches but I've not really seen a lowered car on eibach or acs that looks like the rear was still too high.

Have you got a photo of a 430d gran coupe RWD with ACS springs please before I make my final decision and order.

Also.. I've just found out my car is actually fitted with Koni FSD dampers (gold ones). No idea why, it's 'only' covered 44k miles on a 2015 plate so unlikely to have worn out the OEM ones. It's new to me but im the 3rd owner. Would this affect anything with the ACS springs.

Thanks for the replies.

Just checking we are definitely talking about the right kit as your website quotes 3130236310 for the 430d Gran Coupe RWD.

Looking into it further, the ACS version might not be lower. Although the Schnitzer spring is shorter, the change might be more to do with driving dynamics than appearance.

Eibach: 94mm dia, 14.00mm wire, 294mm free length, 9.75 turns.

ACS: 100mm dia, 14.75mm wire, 288mm free length, 8.75 turns.

So the AC Schnitzer springs are shorter but larger diameter and thicker wire. The Eibach version is a generic item found on lots of models whereas the ACS item has a specific F36 part number, so I suspect was made to help the slightly wayward rear end of the GC with its heavy tailgate.

We haven't tested this combination but I don't think it would cause an issue. F36 dampers are a bit weak to start with, so this could be why they have been changed.

I don't have any of a 430d F36 RWD specifically, but have these of a 435i, which uses the same kit.

Yes, that's the kit I'm using in comparison with Eibach's E10-20-031-02-22.

Lots of factors can affect how low a car looks including lighting, diameter and offset of the wheels used, the ground surface and slope, even tyre brand.

A quick shout for the ACS springs on an F36 msport RWD

A subtle drop but noticeable none the less.

12/15mm eibach spacers fitted as well.
