Adaptive M Suspension = DHP?

Alright guys, I have read some mixed things about this. I have a 2012 sportline 335 with adaptive m-suspension. Does this mean I have DHP?

I am a little confused by this because I've read that all cars have the comfort, sport, and sport+ modes but that doesn't mean you have DHP. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I tried searching and couldn't find a straight answer!

Edit: I found my answer right after posting this. I do have DHP. Cool

When you put your car into sport mode it should have the option to just change drivetrain settings or drivetrain and chassis. That's a quick way to tell.

I think you have that option even without adaptive. I believe it will still change the steering effort.

So you didn't code that at all? I have a '12 sportline as well but had to code it to be able to get the option to change the sport mode chassis and drivetrain

Does your 12 have the adaptive m suspension option if you run the vin? I didn't do any coding.

I could be wrong, I just took that from another thread on here.

Edit: I guess if you can change chassis, that doesn't mean you have adaptive suspension. So, you are correct. I found this explanation and this cleared it up. I guess adaptive suspension is part of the DHP package. I have option 2VF.

Please refer to the BMW University Technical Training Manual for the F30 Chassis, which can be found here: http://prodcds.bmwuniversity.com/lib...20Dynamics.pdf

Section 3.3 clearly states that conventional shock absorbers are standard. (No EDC!)

Option code 704 (M Sports Suspension) provides tighter spring/damper (and a 10mm lower ride height for RWD). (No EDC!)

Option code 2VF (Adaptive M Sports Suspension) is the electronically controlled damper system (and a 10mm lower ride height for RWD). This option is part of the Dynamic Handling Package, aka "DHP".

Section 6 talks about the Driving Experience button, the rocker from Eco Pro to Comfort to Sport (and Sport+ if you have one of the requisite options listed).
All cars have it.
All cars will have a menu in iDrive to configure "Chassis" settings for each mode. If you have 2VF (which, again, comes with DHP) then your Chassis setting applies to the dampers. If you do NOT have 2VF, then your Chassis setting applies to only the steering and DSC (traction control).

Option code 2VL, Variable Sport Steering (aka "VSS"), is the other part of DHP. The difference with VSS is that the rack is faster as you steer away from center. With or without VSS, Sport mode increases steering weight.

I had to put my 2 cents in, maybe this will add some clarity and at least people can take a look at the technical literature.

Want to know exactly which option codes were installed on your car? Get the last 7 of your VIN and go here: http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
