Nice!

I heard/read this somewhere: is it true that V2's are "made in Germany", whereas the V1's are made elsewhere (maybe Taiwan or China)? And, if so, does it really matter (since they're "engineered" in Germany)? Do the V1's have the same type of stainless steel housing as the V2's (eg. if they're really made in diff places), and similar plastic (corrosion-resistant) perches), etc?

Thx!

PS: Is there a group-buy being organized somewhere on the net?

ordered my V2's last night with Kevin at European Auto Source. i highly recommend contacting him. he's a great guy to work with. i also ordered a set of wheels through him and there almost ready for shipment. im gonna hold out to install wheels and V2's at the same time.

They both are made from the same inox steel. I'm not sure where they are made but I don't see why they would make them in a different factory. The price difference is for the difference in adjustability only. The v1 damper is preset, while the v2 damper is adjustable.

Just to chime in BC Racing also makes X drive coilovers for a fraction of the price and they warranty the product.

I may be in if someone pulls it together and finds out about a discount. I'm just at least a few weeks out (4-6) before I can order which is why I haven't pulled together a group buy yet

What are the main differences between the variant 1 and 2?

Also, the obvious question, why not BC racing?

V1 only the height is adjustable.
V2 you can adjust height and dampening.

Why KW over BC? KW is a progressive spring set up while BC is linear. Progressive will give you a better ride. Soft when you want it and hard when you need it. Linear is hard all the time and tend to bounce more. Linear is better for tracking.

Also I think that the bc racing coil overs are not stainless steel. This is a problem because I live in ny, where the winters can be bad and the roads snowy and salty. Need good quality material.

Yah I am not sure why they chose black and gold for their colors. That alone to me is a turnoff appearance wise.

Has anyone pulled the trigger on these coilovers? Looking for some feedback on the ride quality vs Dinan springs. I know Dinan hasn't released springs for the xdrive's yet but kinda wanted a comparison

KW is always reliable, however, Im likely going the BC route. And for those who question BC's quality, the BC Racing factory is ISO9001 certified for quality control and its coilovers are German TUV certified. That along with their replacement warranty is good enough for me to give them a shot. Will report back later this month.
