Screw it, I just bought the Avin Android 9.0 unit. Hopefully have it in a couple of days. Hope it's better than my 7 unit and that the GPS actually works.

I did think about getting one of the higher res screen variants but there aren't as many of those around and of course they cost even more.

Now I have unit with android 7.1, I had no issues with this unit except it is sooooo slow and external DAC is not working with android 7.1 units because of no proper drivers built-in.

I found that there are two types of units with android 9. 1st with old PX6 and 2nd with Snapdragon 625 which we have ordered.

It's the old design, with the chrome edge. I want the new completely black housing, it looks better IMO

Mine only lasted 3 months, now every time I run Waze or any other demanding app, it freezes in 10 seconds. Also CCC, 7.1.1, 2GB/32GB (Andream).

i can say yes it is very fast 10-15 sec from could boot internet is fast too, im just waiting on a software update which they sent me this morning i cant seem to download it at the mo the connection keeps dropping. on the upside they are willing to help.

Yes, but not always, it's kind of buggy or random.
It has happened a few times to me after the car being stopped a few hours or over night when turning it on, the unit starts right away, only a progress bar appears for a couple of seconds and the unit is fully working.

yep looks great and its is the 8 core, i have some issue with it at the mo no audio but i can get it through the usb with a £1.59 sound card and it sounds good, the date will not stay set and when i set the media volume to 80% after a reboot it goes back down. still in contact with the vendor they sent me an update but still the same problems, other than that all good.

Hello,
I have issues with the DAB+ usb adapter. I fianally worked out it is the Android unit itself that is disturbing the DAB signal.
I connected the dab adapter to my phone and when I disconnect the Android unit rom the car, then switched the ignition on, the music was playing fine. I then reconneced the unit, switch the ugnition back on and the sound stopped.
Is there anyone who has a working dab adapter? If so could you please PM me?
If i make any changes using the factory menu, do i need to restart the unit for the changes to take effect?
Lastly, this are the options i can see withing factory menu.

I am trying to identify wheter it is the psu of the unit or the wireless adaters (bt, wifi etc) so can anyone suggest anything?

Working on TWRP support at this point.

The populair "Alfawise H96 max" mediabox has the same RK3399 chipset as the PX6.
