I am sore.
I took PTO today (been a while with this whole COVID thing..) in order to install my H&R Super Sport springs. Not sure what really motivated me but I've only driven the car like 25 miles since the first week of March and I figured why not. I ordered the H&R Super Sport springs from Tire Rack when on sale for about $215 w/ free shipping a year or two ago. They've sat in the garage ever since. I put the car up on stands yesterday: I started with the drivers front - prob not the best. Not a huge ordeal, but I have the self-leveling HIDs so there is the sensor attached to the lower control arm. I got it off just fine, but the metal clip that wraps around the arm was difficult to get back on - just took some finagling: Make sure you wrap those nice Brembo brakes up in MF towels just in case! For the eagle-eyed, you'll notice I am using the factory BMW special tool mentioned in TIS. I heard horror stories of people cracking the aluminum when using screw drivers or other tools ground down - not interested in that. Moved over to the passenger front - knocked it out in short order: Rears were much simpler - just remove plastics from below camber arm/trailing arm and drop 18mm and 21mm bolt out. I think the rears only took me 1 hour for the pair: Back on the ground - it's been POURING so I haven't rolled it out of the garage yet. Front is about an inch lower, maybe slightly more - unsettled: The rear is a good amount lower - maybe 1 - 1.5": I should have measured my fender to ground - I always forget to do that! I will get better before/after photos once the weather clears and I roll it around. Pumped, though! Oh - it is important to note, this is a 2015 Sportline which has the M Sport suspension but is RWD, so I didn't have the heinous xDrive front wheel gap to start. So, the drop is "less" significant over a stock xDrive, but still nice.
