My F31 has been stuck in port (Halifax) for over a week now due to a "port campaign" initiated by BMWCA. Another forum member has his F31 closing in on two weeks sitting at Halifax. Has anyone heard of this or have any details on what this campaign entails?

Is it possible to order RWD Touring like in the US? I don't need or want the extra weight and inferior fuel economy and handling of an xi. Can I order a RWD Touring in the US and bring it home?

Hope it won't be too long for you to get it. Interested to see who will make a post fist of Canadian f31.

You can't order a new BMW from a US dealer if you are a Canadian resident. You can buy a used vehicle. You will have to pay 6.1% duty, RIV fees and HST.

With a potential free trade agreement Canada EU coming soon, let's hope the 6.1% will go away..

Finally left Halifax yesterday evening. Campaigns for updated emissions stickers and ASS software were the cause.

The wait continues.

Typically, the car leaves the plant within a few days of assembly being complete. There is generally a ship leaving for Halifax every week from Bremerhaven. My car "assembly complete" on the 19th of March, was on a ship on the 27th and arrived in Halifax on the 8th of April.

Waiting is truly difficult and trying. When I ordered my E39 touring, it took 3-1/2 months from the day I placed an order until it arrived.
