There is no such thing as a bad BMW engine - whatever fuel drives it.
Don't be so sure - I hear there's a 3-cylinder around the corner

Yes but we ALL know that the 335d is so so so much faster off the line

Actually, IS there a car that can out-accelerate it?

Are you goading now?

I do like the way I can beat bikes off the line - of course it's not fair and never a winning race but I have had a few appreciating nods!!

....you diesel drivers...

Honestly, who gives a f....

I was fortunate enough to take the new GT-R out for a test drive last weekend....and I think the answer to your question is "yes". The F80 had best be something special come summer is all I can say

Those GT-R videos look astonishing! Not sure where you'd use it but worth having - pretty sure we won't see that from an M2/3/4.

I was pondering over a Macan for a while and had a deposit down (since returned) and the salesman took me out for a spin in a 911 Turbo S. SERIOUSLY fast fast car. Acceration that genuinely pushes you back into your seat. There was also a massive difference in engine note when he put it into sport mode, like it drops 2-3 gears and the engine behind you is going to explode. I then popped back into my 520D and trundled home!

Lesson for me was 6 cylinder fast bimmer asap please!

Oh come on stop picking on those Lycra clad road bikers, or was it mountain bikers?

Next thing it will be racing those invalid cars at the lights.

Yeah it was bonkers. I have a YZF-6R and when we booted the GT-R, it was like being sat in a 4 wheel version of the bike and corners just didn't exist...the 335i felt like a Lada by comparison.

I nearly bought a GT-R 2 years ago but it was just too much for everyday use, however the MY14 is a much better daily ride... Just have to convince the missus that £70K+ (and 2 doors again) would be money well spent. If not I really do hope the F80 turns out as good as it looks to be.

Interestingly I was talking to the sales bloke about the Infiniti Q50S Eau Rouge (Infiniti being Nissan "luxury" brand) which has/will have the GT-R engine and drive train and how they are pretty much likely going to make it production now. Could well be one to wait for.
