Lightbulb 16" steelies? on an f30!?!?

So, it's well into winter, and I am still driving on the summer s001's that came with the car on 19's. I obviously need a winter wheel setup, so I've been searching and there isn't much left it seems. Craigslist search rendered this,
http://newjersey.craigslist.org/wto/5891451878.html

I was just wondering if anybody had seen or heard of steel 16's on an F30. Specifically, I have a 2014 328I with the small brakes. I have seen 17's go onto a 2014 335xi, which had much larger brakes than my car does. I really like the idea, I think it would look cool, I wouldn't have to worry so much about potholes, and I would save some money at the same time. Perfect solution. Would it fit? I have no idea. My search hasn't yielded any answers. does anyone know if these steelies would fit on any f30?

i'm not sure how cool it would look...but i put 16 inch rims on my wife's e90 328 x drive for winter setup as recommended by tire rack and fit great. just put in model/year/trim/specs on tire rack and gives a list of what they sell that would fit, see if 16s are listed

Agreed. I gave it a shot and 16's aren't listed.

That Craigslist post is a good price though. If the guy is close maybe try the wheel on the front and see if it has clearance from the brakes? It'll be hideous but it might work.

Personally I'd just buy some Nokian's and call it a day.

According to this company, the 16 inch rim will fit a F30: http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net

The part number is BMW 36106786353 but it doesn't seem to be available in the US for some reason.

Looking at the owners manual and some pages like realoem.com it seems, that 16" is not allowed on 328i even if they would fit an clear the brakes. 16" are allowed only for lower engine cars like 320/318/316 (i or d).
Possibly this could be because a higher load index tire is needed for the 328i which is only possible with 17" wheels.
