Wink Suspension Vs Performance Vs Wheels

Hey guys, I'm not sure what I want to do next, so i'm here to ask you guys for your opinions for the next mods. So far i've owned my F30 for 2 years, in the two years I have done the following: Injen cold air intake, JB4, ER Catless Downpipe, Kw V2 coils, and VMR V710 wheels. I plan on starting to track the car in the new year, so with this I ask you to pick which route to go first and why. Should I do suspension first, or performance or wheels. Or jut say screw it and never track the car and go for looks, a Show car. Feel free to say whatever you want

1. Suspension: Ground Control front camber plates (race), Ultra Racing 2 point front strut bar, Dinan Roll Bar set, Megan Racing Rear camber front upper arms and rear camber rear upper arms

2. Performance: ER Front mount intercooler, ER Charge pipe (IC to TB) and (IC to Turbo)

3. Wheels: Volk Racing TE37SL (18x9.5 square setup)

4. Show Car: ER Front mount intercooler, Volk Racing TE37SL 19x9.5 (Aggressive setup), M sport conversion, lots of carbon fiber goodies, Sparco Seats. (Go lower than I am now, maybe max out the coils)

IMO, I track occasionally, and I can tell you that you need the FMIC asap.

Temperatures will rise and it will run very hot quickly.

Afterwards, you should get lighter wheels+track tires. And then sway bars afterwards. And then chargepipes.

What kind of tires are you running? I would go tires, suspension, then performance. What's the point in going faster if you can't make a turn

Do you seriously want to do well at the track, or are you just having fun?

Racing Sport minded: I would go tires, brakes (pads or calipers depending on your budget), suspension then performance. What's the point in going faster if you can't make a turn?

Fun track day minded: Tires, suspension, performance, brakes. Brake fade and stopping distances will hurt you here, but if you are not timing your laps, you can still have fun opening up your car!

The best upgrade for the track is the driver. Before spending any money on the car, spend some money on training for the driver. I have seen many good drivers in stock cars blow away normal drivers in well setup cars. Both the BMW CCA and SCCA have training programs at reasonable prices. At the same time you will be able to get a lot of feed back from the trainers about what your car needs to have upgraded.

+1.

1. Tires (Max Performance Summer or Extreme Performance Summer)
2. Brakes (Pads, fluid)
3. LSD

+1. I agree with you.

I would not run JB4 at HPDEs.

The inter-cooler will heat soak and performance will drop dramatically.

Just start tracking the car first. Turn the boost down so stock I/C can handle the temps and after spending lots of money having fun on a track, then decide what to do next.

I had a set of Volk TE37's on my 240 years ago. Beautiful wheels. Probably my all-time favorite for looks. Sold them pretty quick though for some flow formed cast wheels that were much cheaper and I wasn't nearly as worried about getting scratched or damaged from hard driving. I bought them used and sold them for a little less and so it only cost a few hundred dollars to own them. Don't think I'd ever spend that much to buy a set new.
