All run flats are not the same.
Had Bridgestone Potenza S001 run flat tyres on 19" 442M wheels on my 3 series LCI for 3 years and 7 months, covered 36,000 miles. Rears still had 3/4 mm whilst fronts had 6mm so had been good from a wear point of view, however I had always found them to be noisy, even though I had adaptive M-Sport suspension in Comfort mode.
Having changed to a 4 series GC, also with 19" 704M wheels, I now have Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats of the same size (255 rear and 225 front). Although I do not have adaptive suspension, now have M-Sport passive suspension, these tyres are much quieter and more like a non run flat tyre.Time will tell how hard wearing they are but given the choice I would certainly pick the Eagle F1''s over the Potenza''s.

My Goodyear run-flats on my GC lasted 34,000 miles so you shouldn't have too many problems.

I ran Michellin Pilot Sport Zero Pressure on my E92 when they came out. The tyres honestly felt and handled like the PS2 variant but in run flat guise.
We had Goodyear Assy 3 on a 520d loaner and they felt pretty good. Impressive in the wet for sure. Dry braking was quite good too. |
