Of course.

"Your" production date IS included as sspade above mentioned, and I also confirmed since your car has the timing chain reimbursement option at the bmw-rp site.

I don't think I've heard any failing below 50k miles. No guarantee, though. However, the warranty covers 7y/70k miles from production date. So this matters or not depends on how long you will keep the car.

For longer term, I would suggest getting one that is not affected, or get the -35i / N55 engine. Personally, this issue is making me feeling uneasy since I am coming closer to the end of the extended warranty, and I want to keep the car long-term. Fingers crossed the lawsuit yields a truly favorable result.

I have a 428i Gran Coupe(which is all good), but if I could run it back I'd get the 6cyl.

IMO, even if this is for your wife, I'd wait for a 435i Gran Coupe comparable to your choices now. The difference in fuel economy is not that much and gas prices are going down. More reason to wait for a 6cyl F36.

10/10 this! I wish I'd gotten the 335i. If I take into account the cost of fixing the timing chain (even though mine seems to be fine so far), the total price difference between pre-fix 328i + timing chain job vs. 335i from the get go, is way too little.

2015 428i Gran Coupe, 23k Miles, M sport package

2014 435i Coupe, 41k Miles, M sport Package

I am leaning toward to Gran Coupe due to the low mileage and overall practicality, but is the extra kick in the 435i worth it? And should I be worried about *41k* miles?

Thanks a lot!

Steven
Being the 22-year-old male that I am, I would tell you to get the 435i, I love my 435i, even though it just sits and does nothing cause it's not my daily and has super low miles, the 428i would be a better option for the wife. Lower miles, lower price (I'm guessing) and probably less when it comes to insurance and repairs (I'm not well versed on BMW 4 cylinders).

Nah...man I bought my 2016 428i GC new... i know i got a good deal for it. $6k bmw incentive, another 2k dealer take off... total of 8k.... but if I look around now and let say trade my car ...I lost zero nothing... just basically starting over. And also I been taking care of this car so much. I can anticipate what happening with it.

Maybe later when the G30 M340i enter the use market. I want something new... I don't want to change my car to something of the same.

It is still tempting tho. My friend is car shopping right now and he keep sending me link on what he's looking at... yeah he's looking at BMW.
